We’ll be off to lunch at teh ClanK Ancestral Compound Mark 2 later this morning (when I’d much rather be a slug after 2.5 weeks in SoCal and a pretty busy end to this past week).
I wasn’t able to follow current events very closely while I was in L.A. but after returning home and getting somewhat caught-up, I’m a bigger fan than ever of #BTFSTTG.
Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Day Camp (for our district) is over -- now it’s time to tear everything down and pack everything away. I’m with Fatwa -- I’d much rather be in bed.
Got a call from a friend of mine, yesterday. It seems his wife got a call from someone claiming to work for a company that did some work on her computer. The company is going out of business and needs to remove the software they put on her system. Would you please give us your email address? Thanks! We’re sending you an email -- please click on the link in the email, it will allow us access to your system to remove the software.
Yep, she clicked the link. So far they’ve only taken $250 dollars. He asked me to talk with his wife (he’s currently out of state) and recommend some security software and also explain that companies never ask to do things like that. Oy.
Thanks, Sven. If you ever wonder, “Who would fall for that?”, now you know. I had her install Malwarebytes and it cleaned off 760 problem files. She ran it again in safe mode and found nothing. I hope there are no rootkits.
When I read sh*t like this, I feel really old, but also glad that I’m no longer in the dating pool:
“Dating among nonbinary femmes is even trickier, as the vast majority of people, even queer ones, imagine themselves as dating men or women exclusively, so nonbinary folks can complicate how others view one’s sexuality.”
Caturday salutations, GN!

Sheesh.
Cats. Much like women.

Eesh. Sorry for your friend’s troubles and getting ripped off. That really sucks.
Hope the teardown went smoothly.

Bummer. I really thought we were on to something here:

I just think wistfully of SMOD.
