Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Wheelizens!

Hope Paddy has a new back splash plus a functional dishwasher and kitchen sink.

I note that alleged efforts to “drain the swamp” in DC are not achieving salutary results. Perhaps we should reexamine Justice Louis Brandeis’ opinion that “Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants …” and Harry Truman’s words, “The force from which the sun draws its power has been loosed…”

Heh.

Personally, I’d recommend a ground burst to help minimize the EMP damage. And confine the blast damage to where it’s most richly deserved.

(Because, despite what Jefferson Beauregard Sessions thinks, I’m not a bad person.) 👿

Well…there’s the Potomac. But I don’t know if it contains enough water; there’s an awful lot of, erm, filth which needs to be disposed of.

Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Mac!

The tile back splash is in, the tile setter should be back today to grout it. The plumber strongly recommended a different garbage disposal than the one I purchased and showed me why. The unit has very high online ratings, but the “neck” of the disposal is plastic and it tends to crack and leak over time. He’ll pick up a different model from his supplier and install it on Monday, when the air switch for the disposal arrives. Of course all this means that both the sink and dishwasher aren’t functional, yet. Oh, well. It will get done.

The one positive thing I can say about PDT is that he’s upsetting the Establishment. I’ve never seen so much pearl-clutching in all my life.

Good on you, Paddy -- making progress. Once done, you guys will be really happy.

Agreed with your PDT assessment as well -- the guy is kind of a dick, but our enemies are worse.

And hi Fatwa and Mac!
