Yep, gonna be another hot one. We got up to 106°F yesterday, with a “feels like” of 115. Yesterday I closed up the house by 7:30 in the morning and by 3 pm it had only gotten up to 83° -- all that work we did last summer replacing windows and the roof have made a huge difference.
Teh Younger works at the beach, so he hasn’t been affected by the heat. Teh Older works in one of the local canyons -- yesterday part of his job was keeping the Mojave Desert tortoises cool. You know it’s hot when you have to cool down the desert tortoises.
Sure…platypi are cute until they’ve got poison claws and whatnot.

I’m pretty fried from spending so much time in teh heat this week; very glad to have three days with little to do and then heading back to Larryville on Wednesday; teh yay!
Project would probably have been done by today had we not lost at least two days’ production from both the heat and leaving early every day this week.

Just occurred to me: it would have been nice to have had a stillsuit this week, (In addition to the heat, there was no convenient loo.)
I thought when working on a rooftop, the loo was just downwind.
