Teh thread GIF monkey’s reaction is similar to the expression on my face reading the news most days. (Hey…Our Friends the Mohammedans believe that I’m a descendant of monkeys and pigs.)
The authors say we have at least another 20 years to fix things.
Nice attempt to procure long-term “research” funding. 👿
Given the current state of weather forecasting, I’m amazed so many people give credence to predictions of climate doom decades out when they often get it wrong just a few days out.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
“Yeah, our computer models were wrong, but if you just keep funding our ‘research’, we’ll get it right. BTW, our fundamental determinations are still correct, no matter what the actual data may say.”
Lost a couple of coworkers this week -- all for the same reasons, better pay and better working conditions, less stress. Meanwhile, the company has hired subs to take on the extra workload, but the subs aren’t qualified to write the documents and hold the meetings to establish a student’s individualized education plan. For newly enrolled students this has to be done within the first 30 days of school, which means Sept. 26. Admin has asked the rest of us to volunteer to write the documents and/or hold the meetings. They’re offering one hour of pay for writing and one hour for holding the meeting. Sounds good, except it takes about 3 hours to gather the data and write the documents, one hour to hold the meeting, plus another hour to write up the formalized notes/make changes and send out to the appropriate parties. Oh, and we don’t have access to these student records in the normal databases we use and have to schedule with the family, teachers, and admin. Yeah, right, let me just jump right on that. No thanks, I’ve got enough of my own work to do.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Wheelizens!

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Monkeys AND pigs? Well that’s just wrong.
Happy Thursday, GN!
Hai, Sven!
Chalk that up to Islamic science.
Here are some peacock spiders dancing to “Stayin’ Alive”…just because.

Hai, Paddy!
Glad you’re not getting suckered into hours of uncompensated work; fie on your employers for their chutzpah.
On a more entertaining note, here a mash-up of Lawrence O’Donnell and Bill O’Reilly losing it on the sets of their shows. NSFW for language.
