Things have settled down in our part of SoCal. The fires, while still burning, are becoming less dangerous as the winds have subsided. Still windy, but nothing like earlier in the week. We’ll go ahead and unpack today and try to get back to normal.
Lot of home lost this past week, but only one death. Most evacuation orders are being lifted.
Thank you, I went and watched it. It is a bad trend that has been getting worse for a long time. People wanting a strong master to take care of them is the death of our Republic. There are always people willing to take on that role but they are never the type you want with that kind of power and lack of accountability.
Going back more than ten years I really considered it likely that I would meet my end at police hands. Getting old has caught me off guard and I have still not really figured it out. I never expected to have to.

Sven -- I read the story, but didn’t watch the video. How he could be found not-guilty is something I just don’t understand.
I’m glad you and Mrs. Sven can relax a bit and unpack. The constant stress is not a good thing.
I’ve got a memorial service to attend later this morning, a Christmas concert and rehearsal on Sunday, and a major paper to write by midnight tomorrow. Yeah, I’m going to be busy. Do I have other things that need to be done? Yep, but they will just have to wait.
Glad to see things are improving in SoCal and that the Sven’s will be unpacking.
Re Daniel Shaver: AFAIC, the jury ought to have been shown that video; I think it reasonably qualifies as evidence. But as usual, The System protects its own.
Eliminate all “immunity” for public officials. And maybe start using the 2A for its clearly intended purpose. 👿
