The latest Thomas fire news I just read isn’t encouraging; criminy. I hope firefighters were able to finish the containment line…and that it works. Also read there’s an approved contingency plan for a “controlled burn”, which seems like a dubious proposition given the wind conditions.
Hi Fatwa. On the plus side with Thomas, it’s mostly still burning in uninhabited areas. Still moving north and west. Last containment figure I read was 35%. I can’t imagine the size now of CA’s carbon footprint -- Jerry Brown must be about ready to stroke out.
Mac: how are you liking your new image hosting program compared to Photobucket?
Hi Sven, the Tinypics seems to be working. It is owned by Photobucket so I don’t know what to expect in the future since it was their change in policy that forced a switch. The new one is a bit less flexible but I am still learning to use it most effectively. I can not find anything about limits and that is a concern with Teh Wheel, but it is free. I looked for a premium service but I can not find any mention of it. I would be happy to pay as I have been with Photobucket to get greater limits and capabilities, just not the $400.00 that they want now. Aside from a few small anomalies it seems to be doing the job. I hope I don’t run into limits or changes in the future but this seems to be working better than the others I tried.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, Sven, and Mac!
In re the Thomas fire, I have a colleague who lives near Lake Casitas, west of Ojai. They’ve been setting backfires in that area for a couple of days now.
Woke up this morning to no electricity. Teh Older was in the middle of a final exam when it went out. He emailed his professor and got a four-hour extension, so he headed out to find free wi-fi. Power came back on at 7:30, then went out again at 8:00, only to come back on a few minutes later. Hopefully that was the end of it.
Naughty Mac! 😉
Sure Happy it’s Thursday, GN!

Damn…just damn.

Hai, Sven!
Thanks for the additional info.
Hahahahahahaha! Didn’t think about the “carbon footprint” aspect. I don’t care who you are…that’s teh funnee.
The eco-doom-and-gloom idjits out there must be having a ginormous collective freakout.
