We’re not gonna break freezing until late tomorrow afternoon…for a couple of hours. Whee!
SoCal’s gonna get some rain next week; looks like 1.00″–1.25″ over ~3 days in the SFV / Simi Valley. Hopefully, that won’t trigger any major mudslides in various burn areas. (But will be good for business.)
While Sessions has been carrying out a Justice Department agenda that follows Trump’s top priorities on such issues as immigration and opioids, the changes to pot policy reflect his own concerns. Trump’s personal views on marijuana remain largely unknown.
Sessions, who has assailed marijuana as comparable to heroin and has blamed it for spikes in violence, had been expected to ramp up enforcement. Pot advocates argue that legalizing the drug eliminates the need for a black market and would likely reduce violence, since criminals would no longer control the marijuana trade.
Yup, just like heroin, you POS. Minus the needles, overdosing, spread of disease, addiction, etc. But still…comparable to heroin, you stump-ignorant, wretched gobbet of tubercular phlegm.
Sessions’ policy will let U.S. attorneys across the country decide what kinds of federal resources to devote to marijuana enforcement based on what they see as priorities in their districts, the people familiar with the decision said.
I’m going to disagree on this one, Fatwa. The issue is less drug legalization/personal freedom, as it is selective law enforcement and state’s rights vs. the federal govt. If DOJ pushes this, then California has a choice to make: either go all in on state’s rights which is not something they want to do because precedent or they capitulate as they did in the 1990’s with Prop 215 which will be political suicide.
The worse thing that could happen is that Sessions does what Holder did and just do a wink and a nod. Let things come to a head.
With this sub-freezing weather, we’ve been leaving a water drip running to keep the pipes from freezing.
Actually looked into this; per scientific research, it’s probably not necessary until temps hit ~22ºF due to water pressure and other factors. But a few extra bucks in water is easier and cheaper than having to replace a section of pipe…
Plus, we’re expecting lows colder than 22º the next three nights
But every time I go into -- or walk near -- the bathroom where the drip’s running, I hear Dad’s voice in my head: “What are you trying to do…hydrate the world?!? 😉
Salutations from Larryville, Alaska, Wheelizens!

Sheesh, Fatwa: a real winter in your part of the country, eh?
Hai, Sven!
Well, we’re not expecting any snow (or ice), which is a major goodness.
But CLIMATE CHAOS, OMG!!1!!!!1
Read earlier that evil scumbag elf Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III is expected to throw a monkey wrench into legalized pot today.

I see no possible problems with that, either.

Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Rain in the forecast? It’s about time! We sure need it!
Sorry about your drip problem, Fatwa. Hopefully it will go away soon.
