The memo -- what does it mean -- “What it means is that we have proof that the FBI and DOJ are willing to lie to the courts to spy on American citizens.”
But we already knew that. We already knew that the ATF, IRS, DOJ, FBI, VA, and every other govt organization bends the rules and breaks the law to further their own agenda whether it’s ideological or personally beneficial.
“What it ultimately means is anyone’s guess.” And there’s the rub. My guess is that it ultimately leads to nothing. In terms of scandals, I’m real tired of Hannity equating the whole Trump-collusion story as the worse thing ever; a gazillion times worse than Watergate. In terms of scandals, I’d say this has nothing on the IRS targeting of conservative groups; nothing on Fast and Furious and the lies told by Holder, not to mention the lives lost both in American and Mexico; nothing on the VA coverups. Not to mention the recent dismissal of charges against the Bundy clan -- which has completely disappeared from the media’s landscape.
And yet all those scandals led where? Nowhere. Or maybe they did lead somewhere, and that somewhere was Trump becoming POTUS?
That is indeed a creepy cat costume; well-played, Mac.
Hai, Sven -- and firsties congratters! Hope Mrs. Sven is improving fairly rapidly.
In re the Justine Damond murder execution, that damned cop is -- at minimum -- quintuply-insulated against any consequences: “Hero-in-Blue”, police goonyun, black, Somali, and Muslim.
I also tend to agree that the The Memo™ will have no long term effect on anything, given the examples you stated (and more). I hate the thought of civil war, but I lack the imagination to envision a more peaceful way to effectively rein-in our increasingly despotic government. Especially given how large and entrenched it is.
Or maybe they did lead somewhere, and that somewhere was Trump becoming POTUS?
I believe there’s some truth to that; not sure how I feel about it.
(I will admit that I’m pissed at the liberals, the media and the Deep State for causing me to warm a bit towards Trump; I’m sort of creeping myself out by doing so.)
HI Fatwa -- Mrs Sven is recovering slowly. She worked a lot from home this week, but not sure how next week will go. She did see an ENT who did a more extensive exam of her face than was done in the ER and everything looks”OK”. So there’s that, but it’s been an awful 10 days for her.
It seems that a lot of the confusion over the FISA warrant could be cleared by talking directly to the judge who issued the warrant. And that isn’t being done why?
Happy Weirdly-dressed Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Fatwa!
The headline from my local paper today?
Gop Memo Sets Off New Battleground
That’s it? Nothing about the DOJ and FBI lying to get a warrant to spy on American citizens? Nothing about verification that the whole Trump-Russia collusion story was made up by the Obama administration and Clinton campaign?
Sven -- I’m glad Mrs. Sven is doing better -- sorry it’s taking so long for her to heal.
Presuming you’re speaking of the O.C. Register, it was a pretty good paper; read it -- and the Daily News -- online a lot more than the L.A.T. while I still lived there.
Sorry the Register has gone to carp…I suppose that says a lot about the demographic shift in O.C. Sad!
Ha! I’m first! First on a thread headed by a disturbingly dressed cat/kitten thing. Lucky me!

Glad to read relatively good news about Mrs. S.; she has been in our li’l ol Southern thoughts here at CasaK. 😉

Based on the secret nature of the court and the classified documents they deal with, the judge isn’t going to agree to be interviewed.
You’re probably right, Paddy, but maybe someone could at least ask the question.

Hai, Paddy!
Your local paper = hacks.
Hard to believe our forebears told the mightiest empire this world has ever seen to sod off over a tax on tea. How debased we’ve become.
As Mac has said, “Our Founders would spit on us.”
Sad. True.
It’s odd though that at least some of the GOP appears to be coming around to Trump’s point of view/defense.
My local paper was, for decades, reliably libertarian/conservative. The latest buy-out has changed all that. Now it’s the LA Times-part II.
Presuming you’re speaking of the O.C. Register, it was a pretty good paper; read it -- and the Daily News -- online a lot more than the L.A.T. while I still lived there.

Yep. The front section is now nothing but AP, NYT, and WaPo reprints. The editorial board has taken a far-left shift “in the name of balance”.
Lovely.
I’m awfully glad we have the intertoobz.
This sums up where I’m at in 2018.
Dayum…I miss Breitbart.
I’m right there with you, Sven.
