“Fat Puppeh Wednesday” salutations from Happy Larryville, GN!
(Really hate seeing pet owners letting their fuzzy friends get so overweight.)
Despite the loss of the center core on landing, I’m damned impressed with SpaceX’s launch yesterday. Especially the nearly simultaneous landing of the two other booster cores at the launch site; pretty amazing.
Getting their payload on the desired trajectory didn’t suck, either.
Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
The SpaceX launch was incredible to watch. I really appreciated the multiple camera views. I really hope this is a start to our journey back into space.
I really hope this is a start to our journey back into space.
Me, too. I was 12 when “2001” came out and felt sure that by then -- in my mid-forties -- I’d at least get to visit low earth orbit.
Bah!
I was a profoundly space-happy child; still recall watching Alan Shepard and John Glenn with tremendous excitement. (And great disappointment that there was squat to see between the liftoff and splashdown besides Jules Bergman.) 😉
Back in 1980 or so, I went to a presentation by the former head of photography for NASA. He brought along hundreds of slides from the Apollo missions. In 1974 I was at a presentation given by astronaut Pete Conrad. He brought slides and “home movies” from Apollo 12 and Skylab. Great stuff.
That would be hard after having Marshals raiding the FBI to seize evidence.
I’ve held the ATF in contempt since the Ken Ballew raid, but Ruby Ridge and Waco made me think of the ATF and FBI in terms more like one would expect from our dear Fatwa. After seeing the manipulation of evidence and perjury they engaged in I was not really surprised when the lab scandals came to light.
I am afraid the recent revelations of trying to fix the election are no surprise at all. The Billy Dale scam showed it had changed from law enforcement to political police. I have given them no trust since.

“A thread without kitties might as well be dead.” Heh.

Hiya, Sven and Paddy!
I didn’t even notice that earlier; heeee!

Sven, “…the govt does not come out looking well.”

I watched my first Winter Olympics competition today -- mixed doubles curling: USA vs. Russia. We kicked their Putins.
