Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Mac -- well played on the thread gif! And thank you for the kind thoughts on the MO.
Yesterday went well. I met the boss, turned in paperwork, got my LiveScan (fingerprints) completed, then went home and started setting up my accounts, email, and went through the day’s training. I’ve got training every day this week, plus a couple of check-in video conferences with my boss. I heard from my former coworkers that the guy in the office who is completely indispensable left. Yeah, leaving was definitely the right thing to do.
Fatwa -- I shudder at the thought of what you must have experienced! I’m sure the press will be all over this, just like they were with the revelation that she had a Chinese spy in her employ for over 20 years.
Yes, I was horribly traumatized by DiFi using her positional power -- and tongue -- in an inappropriate manner. It happened at Bimbo’s 365 Club on Columbus Avenue. (See, I remembered where and when it happened, so everyone has to believe me.)
I’m available to testify, so long as it includes first class travel and accommodations as well as a hefty cash per diem for me and LambiePieK. (Because I ought not be expected to run that gauntlet without my Emotional Support Bride.)
Yeah, leaving was definitely the right thing to do.
Paddy --
Very happy to read that; best wishes that the new job continues on that trajectory.
I’m loving the the critical thinking exhibition put on by the Party of Science the past several days. It comes down to:
A woman said it
I believe it
And that settles it
In the sixties, John W. Campbell wrote an editorial about the down side of closing our germ warfare labs. They were the best and really the only labs equipped to handle new deadly agents safely, and to isolate them, find a vaccine, and mass produce it quickly. New deadly agents were easy to produce, but you can not use an agent, new or old, until you can protect your own troops and citizens.
These accusations of past sexual misconduct remind me of this. The Democrats can use it because Republicans care so much about it that even a very suspicious and unsupported claim casts a blotch on a candidate, but Democrats are safe because they don’t care at all. A liberal leader can rape, molest, beat, or even kill a woman and the Democrats don’t care at all if they can gain power. A liberal director forcibly rapes a 13 year old girl while she cries and begs him to stop, he admits it and flees the Country, but he is honored and applauded in Hollywood. It is a sad reality and since they can use it with impunity we can expect to see it used constantly going forward, in ever sillier ways.
I guess this is why they hate Pence for not being alone with women, though even that was portrayed as being bad for women. I hope at some point people see what is happening but I have little hope.
You’re right, Mac. It’s tough to do tit for tat when your opposition has no sense of shame and no consequences for their transgressions. The Republicans need to grow a pair and learn to fight -- but the only that welcomes a fight is Trump.
“We’re trying to set an example for the rest of the state and the rest of the country,” Mr. Blumenfield said.
Los Angeles is now one of several cities in California, including San Francisco and West Hollywood, that have banned the sale of fur.
“San Francisco’s colder, and when San Francisco banned fur sales, it was considered the compassion capital,” he said. “Then you have L.A. turning around and claiming that title back.”
The Compassion Capital? Who the fuck are these people?
I wondered what Peter Strzok had been up to lately:
“Second, while not determinative, the fact that Ford passed a polygraph administered by a former FBI agent lends credence to her claims. Polygraph exams are inadmissible in court because they are not always reliable, but the FBI and other law enforcement agencies frequently use polygraph tests to assess the credibility of witnesses and defendants.”
G’day, Wheelizens!
Paddy --
Hope your first day went well and that you now have a sense your new gig will actually be an improvement.
And in other news: #BTFSTTG
BBL.
Dianne Feinstein tried to drunkenly sexually assault me on 12/04/78 within hours of being sworn-in as the mayor of San Francisco.
FFS seems to have become my morning prayer.
Good morning GN and hello Fatwa -- I am sorry that you have had to carry that burden for the last 40 years -- will you soon be testifying in DC?
Good morning, Gerbil Nation!

A cycle by?
*whooosh!* That’s one fast triplet!
He’s not stuck in the “spam” larder, is he?
No, he’s not in the spam folder or the pending moderation folder. I saw his two posts, briefly, but when I refreshed, they were gone.
Phantom posts?
