Agreed. But “cultural insensitivity” is a crime against humanity in modern America…provided one is “insensitive” toward a specially protected group. Not a fan of Kelly’s, but I think she’s pretty sharp; I expect her firing will go poorly for NBC.
On Halloween of ’67 or ’68, my brother and I went Trick-or-Treating with one of our new neighbors…a black kid, who was dressed-up as an Arab in a white robe, keffiyeh and head band. I’m nearly certain that would be deemed “problematic” in the current political climate.
Nobody in our neighborhood seemed to have issues with it…or if they did, they simply STFU and didn’t pick on a nice child who was just out having fun.
Speaking of insensitive, the costume company that was forced to remove their sexy Handmaid’s Tale Halloween costume because it offended women, finds no problem with a “Sinful Nun Lingerie Costume” which will “Bring the congregation to their knees in this Sinful Nun lingerie costume featuring a black g-string and a black nun habit with a white collar. (Pasties not included.)”

Isn’t it ironic that the group that constantly accuses the Right of wanting to force their values on everyone else constantly forces their values on everyone else?

Tell you what, I can’t work up much of anything over this “bomber” looking like a hardcore Trump supporter. For the last two years in particular, and for a lot longer than that, I’ve been hearing about how the evil racist XXXphobic white right-wing loonies are all ready to go off and kill all the LGBTQRST people, all the women, all the “people of color” and anyone else that just doesn’t toe the party line. While at the same time, any violence from the left is hushed up and portrayed by the media as somehow my fault -- and not symptomatic of a anything larger than one crazy person.
When the media and the left keep saying how they are going to take us down, shut us up, and kick us out, is it any wonder that just maybe somebody on the other side might just decide to strike first?
Yeah, just not caring very much about all the righteous anger and bloviating that will be coming down for the next couple of weeks -- seen the movie before and it wasn’t very good the first time.
This bomber story seems really hinky to me for a lot of reasons. We’ll see what emerges over the next few days.
I’m concerned that -- regardless of the election outcomes -- the left is going to really go bugfark nuts when it’s over. (I’d sure like to be wrong about that…)
The Dems aren’t going to clean sweep no matter what -- and that’s the only thing that might have satisfied them. We need to prepare for some shade of bugfark nuts.
