Today will be prelude -- the real test will begin tomorrow night and through Thursday. We are on rock and at the top of a hill, so we are mostly OK. I do worry about the hillside erosion right across the street from us though.
Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Awww, a cute pupper! We had a couple of dachshunds when I was growing up.
The burn area closest to me (Holy fire) seems to be doing well. The fire was fast-moving, as they tend to be when more natural conditions prevail, meaning the fire moves across the top of the vegetation, leaving the root structures intact. This results in very little erosion when the rains come.
Another thread puppeh morning; thanks, Mac! 😉
Just looked at the latest forecasts; more than 4″ of rain over the next three days around L.A…criminy!
Hope the SoCal contingent (and the rest o’ youse) stay safe; BBL.
Good morning -- happy Tuesday!
It’s a lot of water for us, Fatwa -- but for anyone else anywhere in the country it’s like nothing.
Hi, Sven!
It’d be enough around here to cause some flooding problems in low-lying areas and with creeks.
Glad the Mountain Redoubt’s on rock; I’d expect problems with some of the mountains and canyons out there, especially in burn areas.
Read earlier about some mandatory evacuations in Woolsey Cyn., voluntary ones in Riverside and a mudslide in Encino.
And I-5 through the Grapevine being shut-down due to snow for a while.
Criminy.

I wonder how things are around Paradise?
Yeah, that poor town. What a disaster.
