If I messed-up and missed your Saturday thread, I apologize; certainly not trying to undermine your steadfast stewardship of this place. I seldom “peek behind the curtain”, so I may well have missed it.
Very sorry to read about your cataracts. FWIW, when Brenda had hers removed, it was done as an outpatient procedure and -- IIRC -- discomfort afterwards was pretty minimal. I, like Paddy, am glad that one eye will be routine. Lasers (presuming that’s how your procedures will be done) are a particular goodness wherein cataracts are concerned.
I hereby volunteer for fill-in ThreadLad as may be needed. (That’s true at any time; just lemme know.
Guess I ought not procrastinate on tackling moar paperwork; BBL.
Teh thread pic reminded me of this 1974 Tower of Power track. (And how difficult an 18-year-old me found writing a transcription with pencil, manuscript paper, a cassette of the album and a Wurlitzer electric piano in my dorm room.)
BTW, didn’t even attempt transcribing the solos. Trying to get the bass part right was actually the hardest bit. Pretty sure I missed a lot of teh “ghost notes” he played…
I’m most amused at everyone jumping on Trump’s emergency declaration re: border walls. Maybe heavy handed; maybe un-Constitutional; maybe exceeding Executive powers; but you know what? You guys have had 30 years or more to honestly address illegal immigration and you’ve done nothing. When you let something like this fester, then the perfect solutions are much more difficult to come by.
Gentle Gerbils, for the record, I have not gotten my check from the Ministry of Propaganda for some time so I am not worried about my thread duties. Any time you have the desire to post or make an announcement, or run across a great picture or Meme, please feel free to replace my post. I am happy to do it but they are not tied to my need for self expression or anything, and if it is a post I happen to like I can always reuse it later, I keep my lists for a week or two. I normally make my lists from Thursday through Wednesday and stage them up early in the week so feel free. Once in a while I get behind on things and buy time by only posting a couple of days. I did Wednesday and got caught this morning.
Thanks again, Fatwa for having my back and saving the day (Do the cape and mullet tangle in flight?)
Criminy, Mac…no apology necessary. You’ve kept this place spinning for years without getting much love for doing so. Thus, as our Harper might say, “PFFFFFT!”

Yup…which is one of two items which share the top slot on my “Why The GOP Can Go Fark Itself” list. 👿
I think the yamaka keeps the mullet in check, Mac.
*Snort!*
I could never quite sort out the flow patterns but I was not allowing for aerodynamic shrouds.
*SCHNORT!*>
It’s the payis that cause the worst aerodynamic problems; they’re like floppy, hairy, exceedingly poorly-engineered canards.
Happy [cough-hack-ow! hack-ow!] Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, Sven, and Mac!
I actually slept well last night, but my throat is sore from all of the coughing I’ve been doing. Not. fun.
Fatwa -- I can’t even begin to imagine what it would take to manually transcribe that piece. I worked with a guy in the ’80’s who was trying to use software to transcribe what he played on his cello into sheet music that he could print from his computer. He couldn’t afford CakeWalk (and the Mac that it required) so the affordable options left much to be desired. Editing was also a real pain.
Hope you’re on teh mend and that you can clear-up that sore throat pronto.
Used to do a lot of hand transcription of stuff; part of being a music student. Still wish I had my bro’s ears. He has easily ten-times the inborn musical ability I got and has largely squandered that.
G’day, Wheelizens!
Mac --

Thanks for taking on thread duties, Fatwa. And it least it weren’t “Frisch” Cakes.

Oops! My bad! Sorry folks.
Thank you Fatwa for stepping up. No excuse, I had my usual list through Wednesday but only put up Thursday and Friday and Forgot tp post the rest.

That is an interesting revelation. I thought they were like trim tabs, to fine tune stable flight.
Au contraire, sir.
Also: heh!
This is great, I get an insiders view of the inner workings of WORLD DOMINATION.
If only.
But then, it’s likely I could not be trusted with that kind of power.
You have the Brenda’s ear, what more power could one wield?
Oh yeah…as though Brenda could be wielded or otherwise manipulated. You’re welcome to attempt to do so yourself.
Permit me to state it has been an honor knowing you, sir. 😎
You would think the Israeli medical community would have come up with a “little blue pill” that could help keep one’s payis umm, stable.
Really heavy hairspray actually works pretty well…unless it’s humid out.
Sorry, Dear; I can’t go flying today. You know what the humidity does to my hair! And you’re the one who insisted we move to Florida!
Har!
