The head of the police union is calling for an investigation of the state’s attorney who made the decision. This may be one of those rare times a yoonyun leader did something right.
My Uncle Mario had to flee Chicago in the 1950s for reasons best left undisclosed and landed in California. Ten years later, my father packed us all up to join him. One story my father used to tell was when he and Mario were driving around and they got pulled over by LAPD for some traffic violation. My father was driving and he pulled his wallet out as they waited for the cop to come up to the window. My uncle grabbed his wrist, stopped him, and told him to put his money away -- he explained that this wasn’t Chicago and that things worked differently out here. Maybe they did 60 years ago, but I can imagine how really really really corrupt this Smollet thing must be that even guys like the mayor are upset.
Watching the news, this may not be the best week ever, but it is clearly the best week in some time:
1. No collusion
2. MSM sad, but gamely delusional
3. SPLC’s troubles
4. The Smollet case
5. Pushing the green new deal to a vote
6. Trump getting money for his wall
7. Trump’s veto stands
8. Pro-Israel rally in the SFV against CAIR
9. Avenatti getting arrested
I had a follow up appointment with my heart doctor this morning about clearance for the eye surgery. Funny timing as today was the third anniversary of my heart attack in 2016. Happily that is as far as it went.
I hope so. He cleared it with some reservations. It will be up to the anesthesiologist I guess. It is only local I think so I hope it won’t be an issue. If it is I guess I will have to let him rotorooter my arteries and put a few more stents in. I will look at that later in any case but I want the eyes first so I can see and I don’t lose more of the right eye..
From what I’ve heard, it’s not strictly a local, but not full anesthesia -- more like what you’re given when you have a wisdom truth extracted. I hope you can get this taken care of now, rather than later.
I also got that impression when talking to the surgeon at the last meeting. I was glad to hear it as the sedation made all the difference for me in getting 25 years of neglect repaired a few years ago. I had tried twice before, starting courses of treatment, but it always fell apart when I had a bad session. I don’t get numb in my lower jaw so root canals and heavy work are very bad. It had been 25 years since I saw a dentist when I tried here in Texas. Those pills work great.
I remember two specific instances as a child telling medical professionals that the anesthetic they were giving me wasn’t working (one dentist and one team of doctors and nurses) and being told that I was wrong. You don’t get over that easily.
Happy Tuesday, Wheelizens!
WHY IS THE TYRANNICAL CHEETO FÜHRER RUSSIAN COLLABORATOR NOT UNDER ARREST YET?!? RELEASE THE WHOLE MUELLER REPORT!!1!
Criminy…so many people are completely off the rails with more, no doubt, to come.

This turned-up in my Twitter feed labeled as a “Rare Pepe”; heh!
The girl on the cover has black eyebrows but blonde hair -- something ain’t right.
Hi, Fatwa -- I got nothing except to recommend this piece by Matt Taibbi -- a guy I normally dislike a lot: https://taibbi.substack.com/p/russiagate-is-wmd-times-a-million
Poof
Hi, Sven --
Taibbi’s article surprised the hell out of me (we have similar opinions of him, I think).
Thanks for the link; it’ll be interesting to see what long-term effect the results of this whole sad mess has on our country.
It’s made me far moar cynical about politics and the media…by a margin I didn’t think was even possible at this juncture.
Happy “Our President is Officially Not a Russian Spy” Tuesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Sven -- thanks for the link. I’ve read through the first part of the article and like Fatwa, I’m surprised at both his candor and self-awareness.
Just read that charges against Jussie Smollett were dropped…and the case has been sealed.
He’s “forfeiting” the $10K bail he paid.
That seems completely on the up-and-up.

Oooooh…hot statist tool on statist tool action!
Wonder if the FBI investigation will lead to federal charges against Smollett? 👿
Hoo boy…the chairman of some EnZed mosque claims the Mossad was behind the Christchurch massacre.
Passover = Blood Libel Season, I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
https://dailycaller.com/2019/03/26/new-zealand-mosque-mossad-shooting/
I’m sure if Mossad was, then the chairman would not be around to make that claim.
Different mosque, I believe.
(There are, in fact, some limits to our pernicious Jooo sorcery.)
Sure, let’s go with that. *wink*wink*nudge*nudge*

What a hoot.
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by Mayor Light-foot’s response.

And it’s only Tuesday.
You’re right…this is a pretty good week so far.
And idiot me -- ISIS being destroyed in Syria which should have been #1.
Heh.
Trolling, first class.

Are you cleared?
Hoping. Hoping. Hoping.
Please. Please. Please.
