Happy Birfday ii/7, Sven! Sorry to read that this one’s bumming you out. It really is just a number; look on the bright side: it’s still only two digits.
I best put on a happy face so she doesn’t shoot me.
Dinner last night was funny -- they got my order wrong, twice, but the manager came over, apologized, comped the whole deal and gave us $40 worth of gift cards. A sincere apology and a few bucks off of my dinner would have been enough. Mrs Sven came out way ahead on that deal.
You had to go there, didn’t you Fatwa? Just couldn’t resist, could ya? You can’t see it, but I’m shaking my head in sadness right now. But only a few times cuz more than that and I get dizzy -- I’m 60 years old damnit and get off of my lawn.
Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Happy birthday, two of VII, Sven!!
I remember when my older brother turned 30 -- it really bummed him out. He said, “Just wait ’til you turn 30.” I did (a whole year), and it didn’t bother me a bit. As Fatwa said, it’s just a number. I hope your birthday dinner was at least good, whatever they served you.
Good morning gentle friends. I am doing very well, thank you again for the good wishes. As the eye settled down over the first few days the vision got better and Elena got me some 3X reading glasses that have worked well for close work. My vision at a distance is not perfect but it is actually better now than it was before with my glasses so that is encouraging. With the other eye improved and new glasses I should be much better, and the next procedure next week should be much less problem as I will have my good left eye to use while the right is sorting itself out. As it is useless now I will not miss it.
I am getting tired of eye drops but that is going to continue for some time. The people there seemed quite surprised that I never used eye drops before. Is it that common? Getting old sure requires learning a lot of new skills.
Well, God willing, we’ll all make it there, Mac, and in relatively good health with friends and family still around to keep us company. But yeah, I’m not pleased with myself right about now nor with the taking stock of what I’ve done with these 60 years.
Top o’ teh day, GN!
*Whispers*

Duuuuuuude…you’re not quite that old. 😉
Ageless wisdom (shamelessly pilfered from AoSHQ):
Ain’t that the truth -- laughter and bowel distress that is.
Hello, Fatwa, and happy Wednesday, GN! Prayers for Mac’s recovery.

Hi, Sven!
Senior discount / early bird special?
*Flees at top speed*

Echoing Sven’s prayers for Mac.

Hi Mac! It’s great to hear that the surgery was successful and that the recovery is going well.
Sven, welcome to the fossil age!! I never expected to see 60 so I still have trouble wrapping my head around being 67. I can’t imagine hitting 70.

Drive-by:
Hi, Paddy and Mac!
THE FREAKIN’ YAY!!1! May next week’s procedure go as well…or better.
Great news, Mac. Wonderful.
And happy Mueller Eve -- curious to see what gets released tomorrow and to see how many leftie heads explode -- should be a two bowls of popcorn day.
I’m sure the media has already written their stories, even though they haven’t seen the report.
