Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Happy Caturday, Wheelizens!

U.S. District Judge William Bertelsman is a piece of human garbage; I hope he gets reversed on appeal. Further, well…I’m just gonna leave it right there.

I think there’s a reason his decision was released on a Friday.

I know there’s more than one lawsuit going -- hopefully better results with the others and that this one is reversed.

I agree. The judge’s decision was an affront to justice and if let to stand, then there is truly no justice left in this country.

“Many Paws.” That’s like a pun, isn’t it?

Today Jack Tatum makes a veterinarian trip for shots and his annual check up. I’m hoping for an explanation as to his change in behavior. Him being so affectionate makes me nervous.

I hope Jack’s vet visit goes well and that he is doing fine.

We made it back safely -- all appears to be well with Jack Tatum except that, according to the vet, he still has his balls. I know, I know. We should have him clipped, but we’ve always looked at it, up here, that we aren’t cat guardians or feline life partners, or whatever the term is now, but rather that we are just renting a cat and giving him a safe place to be while he lives out his life. Have to think on this.

He’s up to 12.5 pounds. Hasn’t gained much since last year. They were suitably impressed with his big head and jowls.

I’m glad to hear that Jack is doing well. I don’t know if feral cats are a problem near the Mountain Redoubt, but I would think not, given the presence of higher predators in the area.

Later today we are going to an NRA auction/fundraiser. I can’t figure out the current upheaval in their management and maybe someone there can explain it to me.

I’ve read a bit, but there’s a whole lot that is being kept behind the scenes and you don’t know who to believe.

I would have thought this would be all over cable news. The man attacked appears to be wearing Muslim garb and he gets brutally beaten for no reason. I wonder why this hasn’t gotten more media attention?

This particular video cuts out about 5 seconds of footage where the “youths” kick him several times in the head.

If it were white boys doing the attacking, you could be sure it would lead the news cycle for the next two weeks.

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

It would also require a “national conversation”.

Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!

The Chicago concert last night was great! The horn section sounded as good as ever and the vocals didn’t disappoint. It was two solid hours of music as they transitioned from one piece directly into the next. The only break was for band introductions immediately before the percussion duet. The last number was 25 or 6 to 4 and Jimmy Pankow brought out his sons to play the iconic guitar parts. As an indication of just how old we’re getting, Jimmy’s sons were not young.

Glad you had a great time at the show, Paddy.

As a young teen, I owned their first three albums; they kind o’ lost me after that.

(And if I had a buck for every time I had to play “Color My World” as a kid…)

Thankfully, they didn’t play that. I was a little disappointed at the quality of the sound engineering. At times the sound seemed rather compressed and a few times the speakers sounded over-driven, which I know isn’t possible in a setting like that.

Very cool -- glad you got to see them and weren’t disappointed.
