Concur! Y’all were some chatty Gerbils last night.
An ability to design and manufacture tools / fixtures like the ones Mac posted last night utterly astounds me. (And a mental image of Mac doing yard work wearing a tie and Ike jacket -- and confuzzling his neighbors -- amused my caffeine-starved brain.)
Iβm a Bad Gerbilβ’
Teh yay!
I could conceiveabley get spyware when the USB driver installs, although I think it uses the generic windows driver.
I was also thinking of “tainted” audio drivers, but I’m basically Windows-illiterate. I’m very appreciative that with the modern iteration of MacOS, I’ve never needed to download and install drivers for any music gear or printers; they’re basically (as I understand it) built-in to the OS. All I know is that I can connect to a new device and it magically becomes available.
I have an app called Parallels installed on my Mac, which would allow me to install and run Windows, but -- fortunately -- have no need to do so. (It was a freebie from my Mac vendor-of-choice.)
Yeah, on the creative side of things, Some of the best software is Mac only. Although that’s been changing. I wish there was good opensource video editing software, but there isn’t really. Adobe is a pretty cheap subscription price though. So I’ll probably get it when I start doing more of that kind of thing. I have a few of the free/semi-free ones. They can get the job done, but you have to have a lot of patience.
I was editing a coworker’s document the other day and we discussed how “white space” would make it more visibly appealing and useful for the reader. It made me wonder how long that term will survive in today’s overly sensitive cultural landscape.
Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
I was reading through the MO and marveling at those pictures. Back in the day, when I was working in defense electronics, I saw many such tools, jigs, and fixtures -- I don’t recall ever seeing any that had that quality of fit and finish.
Gotta run out to TJ’s to pick up a few items for Thanksgiving. BBIAB
Good morning, Gerbils. On my way to the next town over to do some shopping. When I can get myself to go, it more than compensates for the gas and wear on the car just doing my shopping at… I think we’re calling it Waddle Mart. Not to mention everything else is normally priced down there. About 20 minutes away (and 5-10 degrees hotter in the summer.
This time it is even better because I have a friend swinging by to pick me up so Transportation costs = 0.
We do most of our shopping at Walmart. The store, the staff, and the customers here in Texas are great. I only tried them a couple of times in California and would never go back. Here they have all been great. We buy a few things they don’t carry at other stores like Kroger and I use Amazon a lot.
Thank you, Sir. I wish our Costo was closer. it’s in the little town of Prescott. That’s pretty far away, but we could also change to Sams Club which is in Flagstaff and which is closer.
Looks like L.A. / SFV / Simi are gonna get ~1.5″ of rain next week.
I’m pretty sure that Mrs. Shyster’s HOA is gonna have some serious problems due to their failure to act for the past 14 months (but not her unit, since we’ve already sorted it out).
FTR used the term “waddlebutts” in re to Walmart customers, hence my coining it Waddlemart -- Home of the KorpulenceKarts.
It ain’t a perfect place, but we save a boatload of money on a significant percentage of out groceries there. And there are two fairly close to CasaK. (Unfortunately, the closest Trader Joe’s is 25β45 minutes away depending on traffic; we usually hit it once a month.)

Have a safe shopping foray.

I assumed so re Wal-Mart. There are a lot of “People of Wal Mart” memes that you can’t unsee. Sometimes I just shake my head, and say “Thank God for clothes… and I wish some of these folks would wear more of them.”
I’m pretty sure that one neglectful HOA’s going to have some problems; perhaps they should have done the repairs we recommended about fourteen months ago…
It was good. I ground up some Cincinnati Chili with black beans, (I made recently) in the food processor, and cooked some dogs in it. (because I didn’t want to use the grill today)
Well. I got money from fefine this morning so now my microphone is on its way from amazon.
About 6 or 8 months ago, I broke down and bought an all Black “Blue Yeti, USB.” It’s pretty full functioned. It features a sensitivity knob and 4 profiles: Directional, Stereo, Omni, and Two person. It can also act as a monitor for your voice and other sound.
I don’t think this mic will be quite as good, but we’ll see how well it works.
Heh, Mac.
Happy Caturday, GN!

Huh. Well that’s a good point -- thanks, Mac!

Have a happy thanksgiving, paddy. I did my meager shopping also today.

Good luck on the trip and happy shopping.
I do wish people would dress appropriately……….

Yep…but some simply won’t do so.
I do visit Costco once or twice a month. There a few things we get there regularly.

*SCHA-NORT!*
Too true.
I’m surprised I haven’t seen this lady there yet:
Yep… can’t unsee that………..
this is either aversion therapy or desensitization therapy, I can’t figure out which.
π
yer sure that’s not lewis Caroll….. it sounds perty damn familiar…..
Nah…it’s just my usual snark.
wink
My brother is looking to move to Prescott. Him and his wife are there this week visiting some friends and checking out places.
The rain next week isn’t pleasing to me, Fatwa. Can you postpone it maybe?
well you can tell him for me: “Good news! There’s a costco there!”
Ummm…possibly. Make me an offer. π

I think I’m gonna make hot dogs with cincy chili. That sounds good.

Harper is still asleep. She does that a lot.
