Just watched Ricky Gervais’ Golden Globe opening monologue; that’s the kind of thing you’d expect at a Friar’s Club roast, not an awards show. (That industry has needed a “court jester” forever; quite amused Gervais made the attempt last night.)
Good Morning Gerbils. Another sleepless night. Harper drank some bad old apple juice in the fridge and is a bit sick from it. She is recovering though, and it looks like we’re done with all our winter sniffles. (I hope)
I hope she recovers quickly. I have kept apple juice on hand, even carrying it with me when going out, to deal with blood sugar crashes since 2016 when I learned I was diabetic. As I got my insulin and other meds sorted out I did not need it. I just threw out what I had and replaced it recently as it was over it’s date. I did not think it really important but I guess it is.
I bought a gallon of honeycrisp cider when it was in season. It’s very delicious and is not available the whole year around. So I froze it in freezer bags and just left a little bit out. But when I thawed the first bag, it turned out to be too much for Harper to finish. I should have put out a quarter of what I put out--maybe less.
My compliments on the thread pic. I wouldn’t understand the reference if I hadn’t started watching Pewdiepie back around 2014 when South Park did a couple of episodes featuring him.
Episodes were #rehash and #happyholograms, I think. (Looking up… yes, season 18, ep 9 and 10)
In fact, I wouldn’t understand a lot of pop culture references if I hadn’t started watching Pewds.
Happy Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and dv8!
Fatwa -- I heard about the monologue from Teh Older, I’ll have to give it a watch.
dv8 -- I’m glad both you and Plaguie are recovering, but I’m sorry to hear about the poisoned apple (juice). Do you suspect y’all are playing a role in a poorly-written, knock-off fairy tale?
Monday…bah!
Thread pic…hah!

Hope you both shake the cold/flu business.
Good morning Mac! Yes it is important. It is so sweet and not that acidic so it really can spoil badly.

It does seem that way sometimes. But that only means my life with Harper is a fairy tale. So that is good at least : )
Hi, dv8, Mac and Paddy!
Glad to read Harper and dv8 are over teh sniffles.
Elevator pitch: “Plaguie Tales” -- an edgy modern update of the old Jay Ward “Fractured Fairy Tales”, “hosted” by an animated version of Harper.
Wishing our Plaguie a speedy recovery!
