Excellent news re your eyeball; hope you have equally good fortune re Vesuvinite’s apprehension.
Will advise CorporateToolK: Home Edition re SqueakTV; it’d certainly be fun to join in.
Damn this endless war.

It’s sadly amusing that our rulers -- Like Sen. Schumer and Reps Green and Jackson Lee -- can’t figure out how to used a damned face mask…perhaps these photos are evidence they’re mouth-breathers? 👿

The good news is that I can’t get a potentially lethal virus by being unable to post a gif. The most likely thing I will get is a hearty thanks because gifs are so often loud and irritating.
Good morning, Fatwa, dear! I’m happy to hear that Brenda is excited about the virtual meet-up as I’ve long desired to meet her! Jerry is an amazing Gerbil isn’t he? He certainly makes dreams come true. I can’t wait to meet him, too!
Will I be getting my wished for virtual Gerbil band? David on keyboards, you on — was it bass? I know you played keyboard, too, and David played a wide range of things but we have a limited number of instruments here. You two can both fill in by using virtual instruments if things get desperate I suppose. Remember, the rule is that I get an Idea and it results in lots of work for other people! The results are often spectacular though. Just look at Auto- Mock. Brilliant!! I don’t know what others play but I’d be very surprised if there weren’t other musicians in our bunch.
It’s beyond parody to the point where it’s becoming difficult to make fun of it. The jokes have been written already and they want to make them into law.
I heard Vesuvianite scampering around earlier this morning. I’m starting to visualize a wall full of holes as I try track the little bugger down and kill him.
Poison. I know you have many critters you love but how many of them are in your walls? And if they venture in there do they deserve to keep living? Trust me, if you can’t successfully retrieve the carcass of one little Vesuvianite it’ll only smell for a finite amount of time.

I think before poison, I’ll call the exterminator out and let the professionals give it a try -- that is if they are designated as an “essential business” with the correct govt papers that allow them free movement.
I do think I’ll change up the bait from nuts to cheese -- in honor of Mac’s video yesterday.
Warning, I’ve had A LOT of coffee this last hour. As much as I could get down. My headache is doing better but I’m just a teeny bit hyper. I’m not sleeping! I feel like I should use all this nervous energy to do something useful around the house ——
Like maybe skating around the kitchen in my fluffy sleep socks!
I’ll be longish here -- bear with me. About 18 months ago, I scratched the cornea of my right eye and it didn’t heal. During the night, because contrary to what Mrs Sven says I don’t sleep with my eyes open, the wound would scab up and the scab would get stuck to the inside of my eyelid. So when I opened my eye, riiiiiiiiip. Apparently the cornea has more pain receptors per area than anywhere else in our bodies.
Tried several eye drops and ointments over several months, but the scratch didn’t heal. The scab didn’t rip every night, but generally a couple of times a week. The pain was as bad as my worse migraine, but usually lasted only 30-40 minutes. In May of last year, I had phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK)-laser eye surgery and then weeks of eye drops (steroids, antibiotics, etc.). That improved the scab/pain thing, but my vision was blurry and kept varying -- some times I could see fine; other times it was so blurry that I was seeing double.
So back to the doctor in February. I had a list of all the different drops and ointments I’d tried over the last several months and my basic question to him was is this my life now -- is this as good as it gets? He looks, sees a small scratch, and tries blocking a tear duct -- a chronic dry eye treatment. Apparently there are three types of punctal plugs. After insertion -- the permanent type of plug protrudes slightly outside the tear duct -- that’s the one he first tried. A couple of days later I woke with blinding pain again -- and back to the doctor. He removes that plug and replaces it with one that fits deeper into the tear duct. Still a small scratch that hasn’t healed, so a couple of weeks later he does his needle job -- that’s designed to rough up the surface of the cornea so that it can heal properly -- that’s where I’m at now. It’s mostly healed, the clear contact lenses that serve as bandages are gone, and it’s drops and ointments again. No pain this morning, but my vision is wonky.
It’s a waiting game -- have to “see” where I’m at in a few weeks.
Thank you for your kindness in taking the time to make the long post, Sven. I know I should have read yesterday’s thread and found out the answers but I’m being thoughtless today. I want you to know how much I appreciate you indulging me. Along with everyone else I’m hoping for complete healing for your eye.

I see that Dick’s Sporting Goods is having a hard times and furloughing most employees. While I’m sorry for those now without jobs, I have zero empathy for this company given their anti-2A stance the last couple of years.
I’ve been awake since late morning, but I’ve been doing chores and hanging out with Harper.
I made some pulled pork with salsa verde in the pressure cooker.
I also posted a soup recipe on the recipe forum yesterday. I plan to post more. Evidently, I can post recipes, but don’t have permission to edit them. I can post them in the comments, though, so maybe that’s better. I can also make sure I edit them before posting them.
I also finally mixed up a few gallons of protein and flour mixture which I use in all manner of things, and put the 5 gallon containers away. Harper will appreciate that they are no longer in the kitchen.
We’re about to watch “Metalocalypse” on the advice of my friend in Colorado.
This is me staying up late after work again. Time for bed. Good night, Gerbils.

Ok, I re- read your post Fatwa and I now see that Brenda is just hearing about the meet-up. I “heard what I wanted to hear”. Buh
Thank God the day of the week is displayed above the thread pic. It’s all becoming one big blur.
Hi, Dv8; good morning, Fatwa.
I see race has finally made its way into the Chinese flu virus discussions. Soon to be followed by “income inequality” and “transphobia.”

Sven, very good news about your eye! A reason to rejoice. After persistent pain for such a long time it must feel almost strange to have it resolving.
Thanks, Miss Harper. Not sure if it will resolve or not, but at least this part of the problem is done with for now.
Is the pain gone? I haven’t read yesterday’s post I just know what dv8 told me

Don’t be silly, Miss Harper -- you are the furthest thing from “thoughtless” that I can imagine and thank you for your concern.

Wow, at least the poor in Mexico can’t get the virus! They can use any break they can get… https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/mexican-governor-says-poor-are-immune-to-coronavirus/ar-BB11IHpI
Thanks for posting this link, Sven.

Huh. So it’s all in on Biden for the Dems as Sanders quits. I wonder what they bribed him with?
Happy Middle-of-Teh-Week Quarantine, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, dv8, Fatwa, Plaguie!, and Sven!
Y’all have been a chatty bunch this morning!
Mac -- if you have a smart phone, you can download the Zoom app and join the meeting that way, with both picture and sound.
Thank you Paddy, but I have a flip phone with no internet or data plan, just voice and text. I are lamer luddite type.
Sigh…
sad Plaguie has sadz
Stay away from my printing press!!
And my loom…
And my threshing machine.
It’s good to see you, Paddy’O! Happy whatsitsday!
You know what that means, Gentle Mac?
ROAD TRIP FOR MAC & LITTLE MOUSE!! It’s been too long since dv8 and I have seen your sweet faces. Too long…
No, I haven’t slept yet, why do you ask?!?
We would both love that.
