Hope Elena and Mac -- and the rest o’ youse -- are well this morning
Wonder what the government of Seattle -- or Washington State -- plans to do about their anarcho-LARPers…especially given the residents and business owners of the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” are effectively hostages?
Too bad there aren’t any LE agencies I’ve got confidence in anymore; OTOH, it may be a bit early for snipers. (And based on past performance they’d shoot the wrong people.)
I’m in a funk. After being more or less locked down for more or less three months now, and watching the absolute insanity engulfing the country over the death of Martyr Floyd (I wonder if the next baby name craze will be “Floyd”? In fact, I’m surprised that BLM hasn’t made one of its demands that all white people from here on out must name their newborns either “George” or “Floyd” as penance), I feel overwhelmed, confused, and depressed. Back in January, we took stock of our future and thought we were doing just fine -- all that hard work and planning were going to pay off. Now, all bets are off and America is heading in a direction that is clearly un-American.
Elena is doing well. She was up and walking yesterday, impressed some of the people there. She had a spinal block which can delay that, but she got on her feet quickly. It looks like she may be coming home today, late afternoon. It will depend on her therapy sessions. I ran home to clean up and eat before going back. I was able to spend the night there, which was nice. They just started allowing that.
The surgical hospital and all staff are amazing. They don’t deal with general patients so the flu risk is low, and they are being very careful now. Thank you all for the prayers and good wishes.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, Sven, and Mac!
Mac -- thanks for the update on Little Mouse! I’m glad she’s doing well. I’m also glad that you were able to spend the night with her. I’m sure that was a comfort for her, as well.
I saw over at AoSHQ yesterday that Seattle’s Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) has already devolved into a dictatorship with a warlord as it’s head. It hasn’t even been 24 hours since the cops were kicked out. These are the same people who want to replace the cops with “community systems”. That worked out real well in their first experiment, didn’t it?
Well carp! Sorry to be late in updating. I brought Elena home about 1pm. I helped her inside and went to unload the car. I stumbled on the edge of the garage and fell unto the concrete and a low stonework wall around her plants. Got a good bruise rising from above my left eye and a couple of smaller scrapes leading back to the ear. Bruised and scraped both knees and have what looks like road rash on my forearm from a few inches above the wrist to just above the elbow. I was having chest pains but I think I just bruised a rib or something.
None of that was a big deal, but the surgeon did not send in the prescription for pain meds and blood thinners as he promised, and I could not reach anyone at his office. There was no way she makes it through the weekend without pain meds so I thought I might have to take her back to the ER. I tried others for help but no calls returned. The two things together had Elena in a panic so she called her sister. It was good of her to come. The Dr. finally got back to me and sent in the prescription. With her sister her I could leave to get the meds and get a bunch of gauze and tape for me as well. Everything is settling now with two sisters doing nurse duties and the pain meds doing a good job. I thought this would go smoother as I had not just had a heart attack this time and we knew better what to expect and how to deal with the problems.
The Methodist Hospital where we went was incredible. I could not imagine a rich person or head of state getting better care. Everyone was excellent. If the nursing care they set up is that good this will be a better experience. Thanks again for the good wishes. I told Elena about them. You are all special to her.
I took today off. Not so much being really sick, but I’m furious to the point of shaking watching what is going on in the country. Coupled with another day of pretending to work doing meaningless shit that no one cares about -- I just couldn’t do it. Couldn’t stare at a computer screen for another 8 fucking hours.
Did some chores around the house -- threw out a bunch of stuff that I’ll probably regret later, but so it goes.
How do you fight back against this shit? I don’t know.
I’m choosing the least ugly faction and that’s anyone against the drivel that “White Silence is Violence”, that “systemic racism” is a given, that I should kneel, bow, apologize or otherwise show my contrition to anyone. The least ugly faction isn’t the Republicans, but right now it is Trump and anyone else that is a true Conservative and believes in America’s founding principles.
I am sorry, Sven. It is discouraging and depressing. It makes me think maybe we don’t deserve what the founders gave us, but then I look at people like the GN and realize it is not as bad as it seems. I agree with you, the best course is to make sure Trump and those supporting America, win big. I wish I was more confident we will win but it does seem to look likely. The left seems to have overplayed it’s hand. I hope so, anyway.
Thuffering Thuccotath…it’th Thurthday, Wheelthens!

Criminy…we’re not even halfway through the year.

Happy Thursday, GN! -Good morning, Fatwa.
Thoughts and prayers for Elena’s recovery.

What to do, what to do…

One bit of clarity came from Robinson Jeffer’s poem, The Answer. https://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-answer-2/
