It’s Wrongness Friday; teh yay!! (Extra-good pic today, Mac.)
Hope that Elena and Mac had a relatively comfortable and quiet night. Well, and the rest of you, too.
Got word yesterday we’re going to start that large JimCo job on the 29th; was very glad to hear that but have that much more to get done today. Still…woohoo!
Elena did well. Her oldest sister stayed last night and slept with her so she took good care, helping her and giving her the meds. It means waking up about every two hours but it helped Elena get some sleep. Very grateful to her sisters, they have always rushed to help. When the youngest sister had major spinal surgery Elena lived at her house for a while and nursed her as she was quite helpless. Neat aspect of family for me, not being close.
Her sister’s care for Elena did help me and I got more rest than I expected. The goose egg over my eye has now spread to a rather large shiner around the left eye. I had noticed some distorted vision this morning but had not looked in a mirror so I did not know until they looked surprised when they saw me. I will have to take a picture.
Didn’t catch-up on yesterday’s thread until just now, so I was unaware of your mishap and that Elena’s sister was helping.
Hope you’re not hurting too much today…and the same for Mrs. Mac, of course.
===========================
Got my flights booked today; was tough finding an acceptable balance on price / times / what-have-you given how many flights are currently “unavailable”. Will be in SoCal for five weeks, as that’s Jim’s and my best guess re how long this project’s gonna take.
Grateful for the feelthy lucre it’ll bring and -- assuming we do our customary good job -- there”ll be a Phase II next year. (Slightly smaller in scope to finish off replacing the roofs at this place.)
This one’s a shingle job, which are far less prone to unpleasant surprises than most other types of roofs we do. We were a little surprised to get this one, as shingle jobs are extremely competitive. Turns out that all of the extra “suspenders and belt” stuff we do -- which makes us significantly more expensive than a lot of other guys -- was perceived to be a good value by the HOA Board. (Hooray for engineers!!)
Also really like the Board members I’ve spoken with, especially the president. Yesterday, he gave me the name and address of their biggest PITA homeowner, what to expect from him and told me very explicitly that if a polite first response to any of his BS doesn’t work I should literally tell him, “Fuck off; go talk to X or Y” (Board members) and tell him I am following explicit orders from the president.
That’s a first. 😉 😉 😉
President was quite adamant I should be that rude; apparently nobody likes this guy and the present Board has already had a bellyful of him.

BBL.
Good morning Fatwa. Thank you.

Happy [checks calendar] Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Mac!
Fatwa -- I’m glad you’ve finally got the go-ahead and a date for that big JimCo project!
Mac -- thanks for the update. I’m glad both you and Little Mouse are feeling better. Remember, this is not a contest to out-Jerry Jerry!
I thought of Jerry but I am just a piker next to him, he jumps off roofs and drops cars on himself. I can’t compete. He is next level.
MAC!!! How did you do that!!!!????????
Not my fault!!! She ASKED me if the hospital gown made her bum look big! What was I supposed to say?
HAHA!! I get it!!!!
Not even close.
Hi, Mac and Paddy!
Mac --
Didn’t catch-up on yesterday’s thread until just now, so I was unaware of your mishap and that Elena’s sister was helping.
Hope you’re not hurting too much today…and the same for Mrs. Mac, of course.

Outstanding on the job. I hope it goes so well the BS is all worth it.
T’anks, Mac --

Hope both you and Elena are healing well.
Sounds great, though I am sure you would choke on rudeness.
That is a rare treat to get that kind of support.
I’m a bit sleepy this afternoon… But I’m getting closer to tell you all the whole story (so far) of the car… and related stories.
Looking forward to it!
Fairly fun stream today. Spirited ribbing.
