AoSHQ has some coverage of the Critical Race Theory imbroglio at Sandia Labs…and the pushback against it.
Criminy.
Also, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s condo building was apparently “occupied” and vandalized to force him to leave office.
Criminy…guess he’s not going to get eaten last.
And the attacks on folks leaving the White House Thursday night; JFC.
And the recent unpleasantness in Kenosha…
And…
And…
Looks like “it’s on” in America. This is double-plus ungood.
May Kyle Rittenhouse -- and his amazing performance under unimaginable pressure -- be an inspiration for the legions of Fuck-You-Just-Leave-Me-Alone-Americans. (And best wishes to Kyle and his attorney in beating the seemingly asinine over-charges against him.)

Got a signed contract yesterday afternoon which will require another 5-6 week trip to L.A. in the next several weeks. (Sure glad that Larryville is generally a quiet little town…and that we have a few neighbors with whom we’re fairly friendly and who seem to be good folks.)
I think Hawthorne is in CA. Is it a conservative suburb? There is also a Hawthorne in FL, but the web site for channel 7 is a California station, so I guess it’s the CA Hawthorne. Unless I’m missing something.
Happy Duck Skid Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Gov. Noisome has moved the goalposts, once again, for schools and businesses to re-open. The previous metric was that counties had to be off the watch-list for 14 days for schools to re-open. With the new color-coded (ohhh! pretty!) system, it looks like it will take at least 21 days from now, before most schools can re-open.
Interesting, but hardly surprising, how the Kenosha-Jacob Blake story is changing. I look forward to reading the true story if they ever get around to it. My questions:
1. Were those his kids in the car?
2. Was it his car?
3. Who said it was his house and he was just outside barbecuing before the police showed up?
4. Did all police interactions occur with Blake at his car or were there more confrontations closer to the house?
5. What did his ex-girlfriend, the one who made the call, have to say to investigators? Had she been assaulted again that day?
Those are all fair questions, Sven. How dare you, sir…how dare you?? 😉
Are you allowed to favor one color over another?
I’ve heard rumors that Goobernor Hair Gel will, in fact, be adding racial metrics to the pretty pastel rules for what counties will be permitted to do.
(It would not surprise me if the goalposts get moved in that direction; it is California…)
Q: What’s the most progressive thing about Joe Biden?
A: His dementia.
Teh Younger is working an Audubon Society cruise to San Clemente Island today. He’s scheduled from 0430 to 2300, then he reports back at 0830 tomorrow for the final whale watching cruise before they hibernate the ship and the companion sloop for an indefinite time. It’s sad to see good organizations run into the ground by incompetent leadership.
What Teh Duck Saturday salutations, Wheelizens!

Good morning, Fatwa -- happy weekend, GN! If we can make it through next week, we got Labour Day to look forward to.
California, Fatwa: ” You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave.”
Of course you won’t see this on CNN:
Hi, Sven!
Thanks for that video clip; I had no idea. (As I’ve been woefully neglecting reading any local news since I got back from my last trip.)
I cannot put into words how delighted I am about another trip to SoCal so soon after the last one.
When I’m at a loss for words, it helps me to visualize Capodimonte artwork to portray my emotions.
Me, too:
Now those are scary clowns!
They all are, Paddy; they all are.
Sound up for this one:

Love it!
In California, he’d be in jail right now for attempted murder with a motor vehicle.

What?! he’s not dead?? Limited brain matter inside his skull, I guess.

But the colors are nice.
Are you allowed to favor one color over another? Isn’t that chromaphobic or something in California? Do they allow you that kind of freedom?
Now that’s just mean. Fair, but mean.

Q: What’s the most progressive thing about Joe Biden?
A: His dementia.
Questions are so white privilegey.
Ackshually…questions were invented by the ancient Egyptians, so they’re a Black Thangâ„¢ which was culturally appropriated by white Europeans.
Them white folks stole everything.
Worst. People. Ever.
