Good morning and happy Thursday, GN! Glad to see that Louisville mostly made it through the night despite two LEOs shot. “Mostly peaceful.”
In CA, Newsom just signed an executive order outlawing the sale of new gas or diesel powered vehicles starting in 2035. Glad we’ve solved all of CA’s other problems so he can focus on saving the world. Dickhead.
Happy to see the infrastructure has been upgraded to handle much more electrical load as well. I guess you will not be having rotating blackouts? If you are ordered to evacuate a fire area but your electricity has been off because of fire danger, how do you get out in your electric car? The last time they tried to force Californians to buy 10% of all new cars as electric, the grid was already so overloaded they had rolling blackouts. Have they fixed that now?
More voting stuff in the mail. I thought in CA you had the choice of voting in person as normal or by mail, but in Ventura County at least, there are no polling stations -- it’s all vote by mail only. At least that’s what’s said on the first pages of the guide. Later on they say you can vote in person…and give a list of polling locations.
I have an Irish friend, a musician, that’s been in America for maybe 15 years now. Not yet a citizen, but working on it. Used to be fairly liberal, but he’s moved right to the dark side. Can’t stand what the Dems have done to CA and is vocally and hilariously against BLM and the rest of the SJW movements. He got married a few years ago and he and his wife were looking to go to the east coast to be near her family. Not anymore. He’s looking at Idaho, Arizona, and Texas and his wife bought their first firearm last month.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Mac!
Sven -- I was reading about Gov. Noisome’s executive order banning gasoline-powered passenger vehicles. You and Mac have it right. He can’t solve the state’s actual problems, so he works on fantasy issues like this.
With my dogs, it’s more like “You’ve chosen suffocation…”
Good afternoon EverGerbillyBody from midweek (5) and so far, so good. I think if there’s any more training to be done, it’ll be the actual paperwork in selling the used cars on the lot instead of taking pretty pictures and posting them on the Interwebs.
But man, that’s a BUNCH of paper. Still, so far, so good.
One word of advice -- don’t buy an aftermarket extended warranty. Jeebus that took for-fvcking-ever to get four parts approved.
And we haven’t even done the work yet. o_0
Not entirely surprised Louisville had some “peaceful protests” -- I saw a clip of people unloading signs from a U-Haul. Coordinated anarchy with two cops in the middle of it.
What is *wrong* with people?
I hope everyone’s having a good day. It’s time for me to pack up this laptop and head out for some grocery shopping.
Heard about Gov. Hair Gel’s cunning plan to eliminate gas and diesel engines in 15 years on my commute to scenic Encino this morning. What. A. Pandering. Putz.
I was hoping that Trump would announce his SCOTUS pick while he was standing in front of RBG’s casket today.
That made me snogglesnort.
This JimCo Job’s not as rough (thus far) as the last one, but it’s a serious pain in the ass due to bad logistics on the property and more than a couple of clueless farktard homeowners.
It’s also a very loooooong property, so I’m getting a lot of exercise in the lovely dry heat. 👿
I’m gettin’ too old for this shit; I’m really glad tomorrow’s the end of the work week as I really need a couple of “slug days”.
Jim’s daughter and her family will be visiting this weekend. (I can recall “babysitting” her as an infant while Jim checked progress on some roof jobs.) It’ll be nice to see her. Also like her husband, a Navy galoot from TX who repairs hovercraft and suchlike large equipment.
I’ll pop in over the weekend…when I’m not sleeping.

I’m sure that technology will improve over the next 15 years that will answer all those questions, Mac.

Clear as mud.
And typical. A lot of people don’t have the attention span to keep reading.

BBL.
Manners. Good day, Mac, Paddy, and Tex!

Have I said I’m gettin’ too old for this shit?
