I tried to post earlier, but my post got stuck in the lint trap.
I read yesterday about Gov. Nuisance’s latest proclamation to the proles: all social gatherings are limited to members from no more than three households and must be held outdoors. The outdoor space must be open on a minimum of three sides, and households must maintain a minimum 6′ separation from other households. In addition, food must be individually packaged/plated, or a single server used. Masks must be worn at all times, except for the amount of time necessary to take a bite of food or a drink of liquid. Fark that sh!t.
We normally have members from five households over for Thanksgiving and eat both inside and outside. This year we’re limiting it to three households because of my MiL’s age and health.
Was this proclamation before or after thousands took to the streets in Los Angeles to celebrate the Lakers win last night? Before or after 15,000 Armenians took to the streets to protest against Turkey?
If you look at videos from either event, masks are in the minority and social distancing is non-existent. SuperSpreader events!
I’ve been reading a lot about the “enthusiasm gap” and how that benefits Trump. In a normal election year, I’d agree. It takes some slight measure of effort to get up and go to polls; some measure of foresight to request an absentee ballot. With mail-in balloting where at least in CA, everybody gets a ballot and all you have to do is open it, follow some instructions, and drop it in a mailbox or other approved location, even a lazy leftie will be able to do that.
For Trump, CA is a lost cause anyhow, but if the battleground states have similar measures in place, then enthusiasm is not going to matter.
Budweiser will do that.
Happy Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
Today’s thread-pic says it all.

The proclamation was before both of those events, but that doesn’t matter. Those weren’t “social gatherings”, so the rules don’t apply.
Carp. I keep forgetting.
