I didn’t see any posts in teh queue and didn’t want to take the chance of hot-linking an image.
So I kludged this carpy post. If anyone wants to replace it, have at it. 🙂

Christmas Eve Day greetings from drizzly Larryville, GN!
It’s currently 53ºF here and we’re supposed get 1.3″ of rain today, followed by a hard freeze down to 23º tonight and a high of 33º tomorrow.
Kinda glad we don’t have to go anywhere tomorrow and that nobody has to come to CasaK, given the regional inability to effectively salt roads (or conduct elections).
Not to mention the poor winter driving skills ’round these parts.
Oh well…as long as the power stays on, we’ll have lights and heat; that’ll be more than good enough for me.
2020 continues to be FULL OF WIN! 👿
Heh:
Thank you, Fatwa. Sorry I goofed up. I had my list made but just forgot to post them. Duh!
I learned our refinance is approved and should close on January 8 so I was distracted a bit. (Playing with my computers into the wee hours too).
That’s similar to what it looks like when I’m attempting to wrap presents.
Where are the scissors I just had in my hand?
Where did I put the damned cellophane tape?
WHERE”S THE FREAKIN’ GIFT I THOUGHT I WAS WRAPPING??!?
Embrace the freedom of gift bags!
Hi, Paddy!
Gift bags just don’t look right piled-up on the mantle in the way wrapped gifts do.
True, but it avoids this ugly scenario:
Hee!
Perhaps it’s my upbringing, but I personally find gift bags a bit frou-frou for the likes of me to use.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Drive-by:
Hi, Mac!
Pffft!
You keep this place spinning faithfully on a daily basis; a grateful GN thanks you, sir. 🙂
Teh yay for your refi being approved; that’s excellent news.
Good job stepping in, Fatwa. Thanks.
Congrats on the refi, Mac.
Sad news. RIP Leslie West -- another artist I never saw but really wish I had.
Goodbye, little Robin-Marie
Don’t try following me
Don’t cry, little Robin-Marie
‘Cause you know I’m coming home soon
As a Christmas surprise, SoCal Edison left our power on despite some incredibly strong and sustained winds -- their logic for what constitutes dangerous and non-dangerous conditions eludes me, much like the arbitrary Covid restrictions.
Anyhow, today is cold and calm outside altho apparently still a fire danger watch for most of the day.
In another Catholic Church disappointment, my parish has cancelled all services and sacraments including Christmas Mass due to a clergy Covid quarantine. They couldn’t find a substitute priest to come in for a few days?
Happy Christmas Eve, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, Mac, and Sven!
Sven -- glad you’ve received the gift of power -- that you have to pay for. Sorry about what’s (not) going on in your parish.
Mac -- thanks for keeping Teh Wheel spinning! Congrats on the re-fi. That should make a noticeable difference, month to month.
Fatwa -- glad you and Teh Lovely BrendaK don’t have to go out in the frozen foolishness.
It’s going to be odd staying home for Christmas Eve. We normally have our various services to attend and sing at, but everything is online this year. It’s actually hard to believe that tomorrow is Christmas. I don’t have a choir folder full of music. I haven’t been rehearsing Christmas music for weeks. We haven’t had a Christmas concert. It’s all so very different.
Off to my brother’s for our Christmas Eve feast of the seven fishes dinner. No cooking on my part -- just had to bring cannoli for dessert so I got off easy this year.
Given Chinese flu worries, it’s just the four of us this year and no gathering plans for us tomorrow.
Bless you all, friends.
Poof
Here’s wishing you an enjoyable evening at your brother’s, Sven.
God bless you and keep you, now and in the coming year.
(Merr/Happ)y Ch(ristmas/anukah) Mac, Fatwa, Sven, Paddy, (and sometimes Y)
I have to/get to work early this evening. That should get me through the big route fairly early.
Hopefully.
Merry Christmas, dv8, and Harper! May the joy of the season be with you throughout the coming year!
