Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Yesterday, Teh Older and I went to what used to be one of our favorite local breweries for a farewell pint. They’re closing next Friday. They were talented brewers who knew how to make a wide range of excellent beers, but had no idea how to market or operate a retail brewery. Several years ago they picked up space for a second location, but they couldn’t swing both, so they dropped the first, better location. They never got their brewing equipment installed in the new location and used contract brewers for all of their product. The clientele at their new location was different, so their beer flavor profiles changed. They never did get the hang of social media marketing. With no outdoor space at their new location, the COVID closures reduced them to growler refills two days a week. At the same time, their presence in restaurants and retail locations had plummeted. One of the employees was talking about what you need to have a successful brewery in California and it was clear that this place would never be able to get there. It’s sad.
Caturday greetin’s, Wheelizens!
This strikes me as good advice any day of the week:
If you use certain drugs, wouldn’t you be more likely to fight a cat?
Good morning, Fatwa, and GN!
I watched Larry Elder’s Uncle Tom film last night --
Quite good. In my opinion, less of a black story and more of an American story. Worth watching. I give it 5 Gerbils.
