and yeah, I have been noticing that a lot of the last year or so. When I see the mask come off it usually is not quite as pleasant as whatever I imagined. Even if the person, male or female, is attractive, it’s maybe 75% as “good” as what I was expecting.
Big Route tonight. I have to sleep. I did not wake up early today, so I went shopping an hour before leaving for work. Bought a few groceries. Did NOT deviate from the list, as per usual, because the time was limited.
Happy Pirouette Pittie Puppeh Tuesday, Gerbil Nation! (The alliteration is for Fatwa)
Good morning, Fatwa, and dv8 (and Harper!)!
dv8 -- good luck on The Big Route. I hope all the machines cooperate.
I saw some video clips of the antifa riots outside the Wi Spa in LA. LAPD decided they weren’t going to put up with antifa’s crap this time around and started busting some heads -- well, shoulders really, because the antifa crowd were all wearing helmets. They also made liberal use of rubber bullets at close range. They made quite a number of arrests, but everyone knows the DA is going to release them all, unlike the Capitol Hill “insurrectionists”.
Good morning, Harper! It’s wonderful to see you this morning.
I’d do as you instructed, but I still have several hours of mandated, annual training to sit through. Fun stuff like child abuse, sexual harassment, hazardous materials, etc.
I’ll be around — sleeping and praying — as always.
I can see how attending to such mandated training as though you were a four year old in a Super Man t-shirt could be hazardous to your future employment, Sir. Oh, but, what fun! I’d love to witness the mayhem!
Thank you. Fortunately, most is pretty basic -- FERPA, mandated reporter, sexual harassment, hazardous materials in the workplace, etc. The diversity module was at the lowest level imaginable -- don’t judge other people’s culture, understand that we all view things through the lens of our culture -- that sort of thing.
The hazardous materials training is more about hazard communication and the one question that stuck with me involved finding a container of sulfuric acid in the gym. They reproduce the label with all of the appropriate hazard information then ask, “What words on the label would alert you to the hazard properties of this material?” As a chemist, my answer is “sulfuric acid” and the concentration -- which they left off the label, and would never, ever, ever be left off. The answer is supposed to be “Danger”, but that’s stupid, because ‘danger’ by itself tells you almost nothing.
I only have one 37 minute training module and one two-hour module left to go!
BTW, I just love the sexual harassment module that has a series of scenarios, then asks you is this an example of a) hostile work environment, II) quid pro quo, or 3) both.
I get most of those wrong.
Mrs. Paddy agrees with you. Unfortunately it’s multiple choice.
The long one will be the two hour one. That’s a new one and I’m not looking forward to it.
Where was Sven today? I trust all is well. I just assume Gentle Mac and Jerry are ok although seeing either of them is like being given an unexpected gift.
Happy Plié Puppeh Tuesday, Wheelizens!
(Yeah…I know that’s not actually a plié, but I lurves me some alliteration.)
IIRC, the Three Stooges used that gag a few times. 😉
Thanks to this place for being a small island of sanity in a world gone bug-fark mad; I appreciate all of you.

Walmart vs. Sam’s Club:
We appreciate you also.
Harper and I both. I know she doesn’t pop in as much as I do, but she does lurk quite a bit more. I often direct her to an especially juicy thread.

Hmmm, maybe I should go back to wearing a mask. I must think on this.

Brave needs updating… wish me luck.
Luck was had.

meep.
I have nothing witty to say this morning, I’m just verifying that I am, indeed, here; and I love you all.
Now, go forth and live out today as though you were a four year old wearing a Super Man t-shirt!
I’ll be around — sleeping and praying — as always.

enjoy your critical race theory inspired brainwashing, Paddy.

.
I don’t set an alarm when I nap, but I do set a mental time limit. It annoys Mrs. Paddy to no end.
Both of my parents had that skill, Paddy ‘O. It’s a super power!
Not sleeping properly. This could be bad.
I’m here now. All is well.
Nite-nite
Good night. Sleep well.

The correct answer for the questions they are asking is “Yes”. Just put yes to everything. It’s all harrassment.
That was a long training session!!

Well… Off to do the big route. Took me a while to fall asleep this morning, but I feel like I got plenty… so that’s good.
Good luck and safe travels, dv8!

Perhaps you could wave your bent wand and summon them?
