Good morning everyone.

Well… after the mail machine nightmare yesterday. I told the boss I was going to bed and I’d do the big route when I got up.

Now, Actually, I brought a pile of papers to the three biggest stores. two in sedona, and 1 in the village of oak creek.

He decided to do some of the route himself, then tonight, I went in and finished it--everything he hadn’t marked off.

After that, I did some warehouse cleaning up and rotation and recycling of longer term printed matter that we distribute.

I doubt anyone appreciates how tidy I keep the place. It would be a nightmare if I didn’t keep the recycling and rotation and general tidying up … well… up.

Happy Thursday, GN!

Hai, Sven and dv8!

Paddy --

Hope Day 2 of teh leadership conference was as good as -- or better than -- Day 1.

Our elected betters in D.C. must have had an awful time of it on 01/06; even worse than the folks whose businesses were burned-down or vandalized all across the country for the past couple of years.

We’re lucky to have such heroic, competent leadership brimming-over with goodness.

Fatwa-Chesterton-Tepes

That’s pretty august company; I’m not fit to refill their inkpots or carry their big pointy sticks.

Harper!!1! --

Loved the tale of you three all being in college together; suspect you caused much cognitive dissonance amongst the intelligentsia. 👿

Answer: Clearly, I’m too sexy for my shirt.

*Scha-nort!*

If true, this is the worst possible news on the 2A front.

It ain’t great, but considering what the families were asking for, it’s kind of a bitch-slap to them. Still, a carpy precedent, ‘tho.

BBL.

Good times… all of us three in school together. It was fun. I haven’t thought about that in a while. But yeah, it was fun.

I confess I don’t understand the in’s and out’s of Sandy Hook. I’m not sure I understand why an equipment manufacturer was liable for anything.

I’m sure the evidence of the FBI fomenting the capital incident will not be discussed. But there is plenty of video of people being let in and followed around by security while talking with the selfie-ists in a rather calm way.

I’m not really sure what, if anything was done wrong. Even trespassing seems a stretch for most of them. One unarmed woman among them was shot and killed. It seems so random. Like they just decided to shoot a random protester.

Still. I wouldn’t have been doing any of that stuff. I don’t understand the point of going into Nancy Pelosi’s office and taking a selfie.

One thing is for sure, it was no insurrection. And the reason they are mistreating the people arrested is to get forced confessions. The FBI has done this before. Ultimately, they have to release everyone when it doesn’t work. But the poor guy who lost his eye recently from beatings in jail will never get his eye back.

I expect no one will get in any trouble for any of that.

Democrats (especially, but not exclusively) never seem to get in any trouble for anything they do.

It’s not the amount or even if Remington pays it or their insurance carrier does -- it’s the precedent. This lawsuit and should have been thrown out of court and instead it was allowed to proceed. Firearm manufacturers were protected from this type of frivolous action under the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA). Lawsuits of this type are not intended to obtain just compensation for actual negligence or product defects; they are designed to force manufacturers to spend money to defend against them with the plaintiff’s goal to bankrupt the company.

In the Sandy Hook killings, Adam Lanza first killed his mother and then took her legally purchased rifles from a locked safe and used those. How in any fashion is Remington responsible for this?

The lawsuit floodgates are going to open because of this.

California doesn’t have enough water or power, but damnit we have the most where it counts: “California has more LGBTQ elected officials than any other state in the union; with 157 LGBTQ elected officials, California more than triples the next highest state, which is Pennsylvania.”

Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, dv8 (and Harper!), and Sven!

Excellent thread pic, as always, Mac! Thanks for your dedication!

dv8 -- I hope your boss appreciates all that you do.
Loved Harper’s stories and comments from yesterday!

The 2nd in-person day of the conference was also excellent. We had time to discuss issues we were facing and a couple of people really drilled down into a communication issue I’m seeing at my school. In discussing team meetings, one person mentioned that meetings where all people do is report out what’s going on are the most worthless ones to have. “If all you’re going to do is tell me what you’ve been doing, then don’t bother coming.” It was refreshing to here that.
