I think we’re already engaged in some sort of civil war, but cannot for the life of me prognosticate on what forms it’s ultimately going to take. If we’re lucky, it won’t be too consuming…but given we effectively have a uniparty governing ruling us, I sincerely doubt we’ll be “lucky”.
I wish a return to federalism could save us, but I believe we are long past that being a viable option…with a FedGov which doesn’t give a fig for the COTUS, anyway.
Also wish we had some additional governors who are even more militant than DeSantis and Abbott, but we don’t and I highly doubt any more like them will be elected in time to stave-off whatever’s coming.

I, too, enjoy cold fried chicken and pizza when I’m too dang lazy to reheat them. We’ve taken to hitting Chick-Fil-A once or twice a month for salads -- which are consumed immediately -- and spicy sammiches for the following day.
“Measure once, cuss twice”
Heh.
I’m prone to cussing a lot more than twice when I err by acting on wrong measurements, Paddy. Glad to see you got your planter hung nicely. (Although I wish it had been politicans, instead…but I’m a bloodthirsty, vengeful sumbitch.)
Perhaps it’s time to revive and “nationalize” SoCal radio hosts Bob & Ken’s “Heads On Sticks” campaign, which caused much overreaction among CA politicians years ago.
Watching powerful people get butt-hurt and pretending to be scared by cut-outs of their heads glued to popsicle sticks is rather Alinsky-ish.

I became an instant convert to baking bacon after trying it the first time. 400ºF oven for 18+ minutes depending on thickness and desired degree of doneness. (Given variables, I checked it after 15 minutes and kept an eye on it until it looked “done” to me.)
If you get a good crease in one corner of the parchment paper, pouring-off the bacon fat is quite easy. (To render it, a cheesecloth or paper towel-lined sieve works very well. I like paper towels, as they can be binned along with the parchment paper.)
Way less fuss, much moar bacon done at the same time vs. pan-frying.
BBL.

A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa!
Cold fried chicken with bread and butter. It’s a goodness!
I agree with baking bacon. I fold a couple of sheets of aluminum foil together to line the baking sheet to make clean up easier. Much easier to cook a decent amount of bacon than pan frying.
Drive-by:
Flying Rat Sunday salutations, GN!
“Level-up, Pooper One!”

I hope the Lovely BrendaK is doing well.
Good night everyone.
Thanks Fatwa for the Bacon cooking advice.
Since I do like to cook the whole package of bacon in one go, it seems like a pretty good method. The parchment probably makes for an easy cleanup.
Good night, dv8 (and Harper!)!
See you tomorrow.
