O glorious Monday and the start of a new month…wooooo!
dv8 and Harper!!1! --
Thank you both for your tales yesterday; safe travels to Linux Rob.
Apparently I’m falling short on the real Dad nose-blowing front. Perhaps that’s ’cause I’m a “Sears Dad” (cf. lyrics to Zappa’s “Camarillo Brillo” and/or “Cosmik Debris”). One would think that with a schnozz the size of mine, I’d rattle the windows or worse…but I don’t.
*Sigh*

Today’s thread pic resonates (unlike my nose-blowing); I recall one instance where LambiePieK and I considered the use of a blowgun to administer meds to Jackson; he always knew when we were trying to stealth-medicate him by concealing a pill inside a special treat (like ham). It was uncanny the way he’d eat around the pill.

Ah. Fatwa, you always bring the most exquisite bits!
I have great hopes for this model! So many cheerleaders of these cars have so little understanding of electricity that it could be an efficient means of Darwinian weeding. In fact, I suggest someone draw up a proposal and submit plans to combine the charging fields with reflecting pools. “During the day they serve the industrial campus as charging stations but at night…a beautiful reflecting pool…
Eep! I don’t know what we’re going to do if Rob is actually sick and not just overtired. We’ll have to talk about it when dv8 awakens. It hasn’t hit him yet that we’ll have to send David and Rob to a hotel in the next town (Sedona is way too expensive before Winter). I take immuno-supressents and go to great lengths to avoid the plague ridden.
Well, I really went into the late night telling tales on yesterday’s thread. I’m so glad Harper regaled you of her fog horn, nose blowing story, among others. These are family classics, to say the least.
My latest Linux Rob update, is that he’s feeling a bit feverish. He says he “smells like the flu.” which oddly enough…
is probably true, as his sense of smell is unusually acute.
I am just the opposite. I actually had a reaction to OTC steroid nose spray, a while back, and although my sense of smell has mostly returned, such as it is, at the time, everything smelled either like Cheesecake baking in the oven, Instant Ramen, or Coffee, which, since then, I have designated as the three primary smells.
In truth I kind of miss my primary smells period. Because one of the benefits was that crappy cigarette smoke smelled like the absolutely-the-bestest-of-the-bestest coffee to me. Which was fairly awesome.
On the other hand… urine and instant ramen were also indistinguishable, although I guess that was also a positive, because it was the urine that smelled like ramen to me and not the other way around.
Happy Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, Mac, dv8, and Harper!
It’s good to see so much activity on Teh Wheel!
I hope Linux Rob get’s over his illness soon and doesn’t share it with anyone else.
In re electric car charging: when I worked for Hughes Aircraft, we developed an inductive electric car charging station for GM that eliminated all those pesky electrical connection and potential spark and shock problems. It was a simple paddle that was inserted into a slot in the vehicle -- no physical contact was required. Of course the idea went nowhere.
The leftist outrage over “let’s go Brandon” is most amusing. I’m old enough to remember anti-Palin protesters sporting shirts that read “Sarah Palin is a c*nt” and no one from their camp even mentioning vulgarity in politics.
It also reminds me of an AoS comment: “Let’s be clear: THEY are waging the culture war; WE are fighting back.”
These are the same people who cheered when Robert DeNiro said, at the Academy Awards, “F**k Trump!” Not only are they not self-aware, they feel no need to be.
I meant to tell all y’all that LynuxRob arrived safe and sound ~ and without the flu! I wondered if he might just be exhausted and overwhelmed and that was what it was.
Evidently, I couldn’t be awakened which is not that unusual, so I haven’t seen him yet but I’ve had telegram reports that thai food has been eaten in fraternal communion and all is right with the world. Now they are at dv8’s job.
Thanks for the article, Sven. I always look forward to what you leave for me to delve into. I’ve got a really good one for you but I have to find a way to link it.

I’ll leave it to Fatwa to write the ad.
Good morning Mac!
I’m back on TOR, so I’ll have to see the images later when I look on my phone. I know I’m missing out in a big way.
Good morning, dv8. I hope Rob is OK. Nasty to get sick when on the road.

Oh well, it will all work out.
Perfect. Professor Gentle’s class on Art Appreciation. I’d take it!

I’m going to go change my AC filter now. See you later. Probably sleepy time right after that.
Yeah, Harper woke up a bit ago so she was there to watch me in case I fell off the ladder and she had to call 911.
So I guess it’s good night for now.
Happy Monday, Gerbil Nation!

Good to see you, Sir.
VERY funny nose-horn story, Miss Harper -- thanks! Dv8: dreadlocks sound like a maintenance nightmare.

It’s kinda horrific to see so many souls emotionally cut off like that.
Yeah, I’m over it now, it’s horrific to see so many dead soulless eyes. They indulge themselves far too much and it’s gruesome to see.
Exactly
