Spent a lazy Friday recuperating from Thursday night’s shift about 13 hours. Still I didn’t go to sleep right away when I got home.

Read yesterday’s thread twice. Can’t remember much, for some reason. Meatloaf passed away, I guess. Sorry to hear. He seemed like a good guy as well as a talented guy.

Happy “It Wasn’t Teh Kitteh, It Was Teh Fog” (see Sandburg, Carl) Caturday, Wheelizens!

Hi, dv8 (and Harper!!1!)!

In the midst of getting JimCo’s ducks in a row to really piss off HH-A HOA. (And their property manager, with whom I am now deeply unhappy.). 👿

So…in CA organized retail thieves are not “gangs”, eh? I suppose they’re Heroic Merchandise Liberators.

“Run free, little Louis Vuitton purses!”

In response to Harper’s (!!1!) “frenetic music” of a couple of days ago, I offer this, (I don’t know how the drummer and -- especially -- the bassist keep up the pace. BTW, I believe the trumpet soloist is Bill Chase, who later founded a self-named band best known for their early-’70s hit “Get It On”.)

Good morning, Dv8, and Fatwa. Santa Ana windy out here again, but by the grace of SoCal Edison, we still have power.

I can’t get excited over 2A wins like this: https://redstate.com/jenniferoo/2022/01/21/a-win-for-the-second-amendment-in-california-as-a-federal-appeals-court-rules-pandemic-gun-store-closures-unconstitutional-n510419

So a court ruled, two years later, that what two counties did in closing down gun stores and sales during the “emergency” was un-Constituional. So what punishment do these two counties face for passing an illegal order and engaging in illegal actions? Absolutely nothing. Will they do it again? Of course they will, whenever it suits them -- they don’t have any incentive not to.

I’ve begun to wonder if all these ongoing 2A battles are all an elaborate game where the politicians, the courts, the lawyers, and the 2A groups are in cahoots and the ones that suffer the most are the citizens that support 2A groups with their $.

Drive-by:

Hiya, Sven!

Glad your power remains intact despite the Santa Anas and hope it remains that way.

I suspect that at some point, anti-2A people will find out the hard way precisely why that amendment exists.

“The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.” -- Thomas Jefferson

Or, as the kids say, “fuck around and find out”.

Given the number of both firearms and hotheads in America, it’s fairly amazing that hasn’t happened yet.

All of the (alleged) “crazy gun owners” and “gun nuts” (with their Lilliputian genitalia) are a profound disappointment to me. 🙂

Happy Hungry Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, dv8 (and Harper!), Fatwa, and Sven!

One Thanksgiving, long ago when I was young, my parents decided we should visit some friends after Thanksgiving dinner. When we returned, the turkey carcass was missing and there were little dachshund footprints in the pumpkin pie. Our dachshunds also tried to plead innocent.

I wonder how many times I didn’t stand up to evil vs how many times I did. I’m kind of a weirdo, so maybe that ratio is low. I honestly don’t remember being complicit, but I probably have been.

It’s easier to stand up for right things here in the US because it’s “not that bad yet.” and we have the second and first amendments. Though both have been chipped away at, look at the crap they’re stuck with in other countries.

Imagine what it takes for a Chinese person to stand up to their tyrannical government. Do any of us have THAT kind of courage? I feel like most people don’t. I’m not sure I do. Perhaps I’d work for freedom as anonymously as possible.

Or perhaps, I’d escape as soon as I could and come here.

That seems like what anyone sensible usually does.
