Some good points yesterday re the downside of remote work; it’ll be interesting to see how this affects “corporate culture” over the longer haul.
When I worked at Alesis, 100+ employees ate lunch together at long communal tables. A lot of good came out of different combinations of folks sharing a meal on a daily basis. Myriad problems were identified and/or solved, new products brainstormed, getting to know cow-workers in other departments, etc. (There was an unwritten rule that one did not take a plate back to one’s desk / bench / what-have-you; everyone took a break mid-day and ate together.)
As re Whoopi “Jewface” Goldberg: She made her original moronic gaffe exponentially worse on Colbert that same night and then made it even worse the next day on “The Estro-Hag Hour”.
Suspending her from the show’s being done as a sop (and a way to better assess just how badly she screwed-up long-term in re the show’s viewership / ratings).
Her suspension ought to be from a lamppost, IMO. If ABC / Dismal had any principles (ha!), they’d have fired her live mid-show yesterday.

I think what Goldberg said was pretty equivalent to claiming that Jim Crow laws and lynchings of blacks had nothing to do with race; they were just man’s inhumanity to man.
Imagine if some whitey / cracker / ofay / Mr. Charlie (or Miss Ann) had said that on “The View”.
