I’m pretty conflicted about what -- if anything -- the U.S. should do re Ukraine.
If nothing else, this horrific clusterfark ought to remind the world that, sadly, our “word” is not to be trusted in part due to our quadrennial “Changing of the ‘Tards”.
America: No Better Enemy, No Worse Friend.
Plus, I’m sad to say, I have little faith in our military’s “woke” leadership and preparedness due to that leadership.
Wonder what the book is on Xi moving on Taiwan?
Foooooooook!

Hope The Big Route went well last night.

I second the request for a FULL version of that one!
Appreciate the sentiment but make no commitment. (In part as it would require becoming much more familiar with that tune than I would prefer. I generally did my best to ignore it when it was getting lots of exposure in my yout’.)

China is once again the winner in all this mess -- the time is right for them to move on Taiwan and get that done and over with. North Korea has been quiet for a while -- probably time for them to make a move south as well.
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation, everything’s ducky edition!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
I’ve caught up on all of Teh Wheel that I missed late Wednesday and Thursday. I still have to catch up on personal email. Work email is going to be even worse. At the symposium yesterday they announced, “You may have noticed we didn’t post the wifi password. That’s because we want you to disconnect from work and engage in the work we’re doing here today.”
The symposium was good, and I’m glad I went, even though it means playing catch-up. Flights in both directions were delayed, making for a couple of long days.
I think Sven is right about China. While the world is distracted by Russia and Ukraine, they’ll make their move. Meanwhile, the U.S. is trying to push ahead with an Iran nuke deal before anybody notices.

C’mon, they’re just like chitlins, but further south.
Good morning, Paddy -- glad the conference was worthwhile and that you made the trip.
The lesson that I’m taking from the last two years is we are on our own. Something I’ve known and acted on at an individual level, but America needs to wake up and forget about this “one world-one people we are all in this together” bullshit.
That’s like the “we’re all in the same boat” b.s. that was pedaled early in the COVID lockdowns. No, we’re all in the same storm. Some are clinging to floating debris, while others are in luxury yachts.
At Mrs. Sven’s employer, they’ve lost all contact with their employees and distribution centers in Ukraine, but are still shipping product to Russia. A real profile in courage.
Managed to get done last night and get plenty of sleep. Still in Flagstaff. Harper is done with her treatment. We are now at Sam’s Club getting a few things.
Quite the contrast between Ukrainian politicians and elected officials arming up and fighting in their capitol and our politicians huddling under their desks and hiding as the 1/6 mob attacked our capitol in the greatest threat to our democracy since the Civil War.
“DUCK!”
Happy Friday, Wheelizens!

Interesting times, indeed.

Hey there!

Good on you guys -- enjoy shopping!

Hey can you blame them? That unruly mob milling around and taking selfies, well, it was pretty fearsome.
