Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Fatwa!
Kittehs -- always willing to help, whether it’s sitting in your pot, or micromanaging your work.
The conference has been worthwhile, so far. I’ve got two more days of it and I hope the breakout sessions continue to be worth my time. I’m hoping to have a meeting with my boss and HR to discuss management of my direct report and try to set clearly defined expectations for her work output.
We bring in our bird feeder every night to keep the rats from having a picnic. Yesterday evening, when I went to bring it in, I found an egg on the tray. An egg? On the bird feeder? Well, carp! Now it’s an active nest and I can’t disturb it, so I left the bird feeder outside. I guess the rats didn’t realize it was there, because the egg is still on the feeder this morning. I’m sure, at this point, that it’s been abandoned too long to be viable, but we’ll just have to wait things out.
Glad you’ve been mostly enjoying your conference. I don’t really know what they are like, because I have had minimal participation in the corporate world
Although…
That may change soon, but if it does, I’ll be more at the top than in the middle somewhere.
That’s admittedly a hint, and a tease, but it’s all I can disclose at the present time.
That would be a good trick. It’s still there today and tomorrow Teh Older is going to reach out to someone who knows about such things to see how long we have to let it sit before we can get rid of it.
I feel like the senate made the right decision--probably for the wrong reason, but don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
I have long thought they should do away with DST, but especially having lived up north for a while, Permanent DST makes more sense up there when the days grow short.
In the winter, we’re just on the 8 hour days of sunlight, and we go to work in the dark but come home to an hour or so of daylight after work, only to have DST end and put us in the dark both coming and going. It’ll probably be good for the epidemic of SAD that we tend to get up there.
Not that it matters anymore to me being in the southwest now.. I assume our clocks here will change if the law passes, but I’m not sure. AZ never adopted DST and we don’t need it here. But if the clocks do a one time shift here, it’s not a problem for us either way.
I heard a chunk of his speech while fighting the traffic home today. I haven’t a clue what Congress and/or Pelosi were doing and haven’t heard any responses to it.
I haven’t been awake that long on my recovery day, so I haven’t looked at any news yet.
Regarding DST: Never in my wildest dreams did I think they’d do this. It has had wide support for a long time though, so I guess Hell isn’t necessarily frozen over.
There’s a lot of time zone weirdness all over the world. For example: India/Pakistan has only one time zone, but because it’s such a wide area, they actually straddle two time zones, so instead of having two time zones, they only have one, BUT their hour is on everyone else’s half hour. So they’re 30 minutes off from most of the rest of the world.
Good morning, GN --
Cats are indeed cruel taskmasters.
Feline foreperson felicitations, GN!
Hey, Sven!
Paddy --
I hope you found teh conference worthwhile and that your cow-worker can be persuaded to tough it out until the end of the school year.
dv8 (and Harper!!1!) --
Here’s hoping the mail wasn’t a mess and that the Big Route went smoothy.
===================
Since we’ve heard nothing from our lawbaw, I’m presuming HH-A HOA has not responded to his nastygram. (Will confirm later today.)
It also happens to be the day of the month to send out another interest-bearing invoice to the property manager. 👿

hahaha!!! on today’s meme!

Really? Well that could be cool for you -- good luck.
Thanks, I’ll need it. Although I should also say that it’s very much a long shot. Nobody has enough lung power to hold their breath for this one.
I’m thinking Mrs. Paddy might be playing a little joke on you re:egg in bird feeder.

The Big Route went okay tonight. The mail got done at a reasonable hour. The whole shift came in at just around 12 hours.
My record, if all the stars are alligned, is 9.5 hours, but it’s usually closer to 11 or 12, although like last week, but long shifts were around 14.
Hello Fatwa, Paddy, and Dv8.
Today is the two year anniversary of teh bestest place ever going to a remote work model. Yeah, us.
Glad you are enjoying the conference, Paddy.
I’m with, Dv8, regarding the senate and DST.
Watched most of Zelenskyy’s speech to Congress this morning. Quite slick. Congress of course, and Pelosi in particular, looked like fools.
I heard a chunk of his speech while fighting the traffic home today. I haven’t a clue what Congress and/or Pelosi were doing and haven’t heard any responses to it.

FFS -- Jussie Smollet released from jail.
I was really hoping my prediction would be wrong.
yup…………..
