I can’t see the words “Tasmanian Devil” without hearing Mel Blanc’s voice characterization of same in my head. Old Warner Bros. cartoons are pernicious and they must be stopped!!1!

Hope the extra stuff you had to do last night wasn’t too onerous; was one of them replacing the dodgy suction cup? (And, if so, did it help?)
I think his purchase is a mixture of hubris and savvy investing.
Concur, Paddy. It’ll be interesting to see if there’s any actual change to Twitter’s (effective) censorship of wrongthink over the next little bit.

I think this is pretty well-done; the vocals are too low in the mix but there are subtitles which largely compensate for that. It also has a lot of “blink and you’ll miss it” stuff. WARNING: Contains a particularly evil Disney “ear worm”, which is why I put up a link instead of embedding it.
suction cups replaced. Machine works much better. Also had to move some paper vending machines around. Couldn’t see properly to cable lock them together. I went in this afternoon so I could do that in the daylight.
We had a big storm last night. So bad it rained inside the master bathroom., had water coming in from the exhaust fan, and several other spots on the ceiling of the master bathroom. It must be a poor design or location as we have had leaks there several times, with different roofs. We had the roof replaced the middle of last year. Our roofer was able to seal things before so I expect he will come through again. Kind of bad timing as Elena was up the last few nights with a cough, but at least it should not rain for most of the coming week.
I just finished a week of a bad cold myself. I almost never get colds or flu, so it was a surprise. Was not too bad. I took two covid tests, home type, and both were negative.
Hi Paddy. We have had three roofs on this house and all three leaked there. It happens during extreme storms and I suspect it is the direction and the slope there, or something related. I think the wind during those storms was in a less common direction. We had tornado sirens running a lot last night.
Sorry to read you had a cold; glad it wasn’t the Kung Flu.
Bummer about your roof leaks; hopefully your guy can sort them out.
Without knowing anything about your roof I’m just spitballin’ here: Could be a T-vent for the exhaust fan (which can sometimes be cured by crimping the corners) or a dodgy plumbing vent flashing.
Also might be an attic vent over the bathroom -- if there’s one in that location -- or an issue with the ridge venting (if your roof is thus equipped).
Our old roof had cheap-jack ridge venting which used to leak into the garage loft in heavy rain with the wind coming from the west. When we had our roof replaced, we paid a couple of hundred extra for a better quality ridge vent and the problem hasn’t recurred.
You can see how crimping the vent on the left might reduce water intrusion in high winds; we usually use the type on the right. (Which cost a bit more but have significantly reduced callbacks for leaking exhaust vents over the years.)
I’m trying to start a thing where we give @elonmusk our proxy votes. I’m hijacking the twitter hastag #proxywar.
It’s gotten some likes. I’m not sure I have enough clout or savvy to get something like that going. At least not without a lot of work. If I devoted some 10 hour days to it, I maybe could get some traction on it.
On the other hand, if Elon saw one of my messages, he might think it was funny, and boost it.
Happy Tuesday, GN!

Going to try to nap a bit before work.

I’m glad both you and Elena are feeling better.
Happy Tasmanian Devil Tuesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Mac!
Fatwa -- that was an excellent video. Lot’s to see.
Mac -- that sucks about your roof. Do you think the problem is the design of your exhaust vent cap?

Sorry to hear about your roof, Mac, and that you and Elena have been feeling poorly -- here’s hoping all is resolved quickly.

I guess, thanks to me the hashtag #proxywar no longer shows up in auto-complete, but the hashtag still exists. They didn’t kill it completely.
