That thread kitteh looks more “together” in the morning than I do. Also better groomed.

I second Paddy re the Naomi Wolf link; dusty, indeed.

It’s been months since I’ve looked to see how many followers I have at Teh Bird Site; ditto my metrics. I’m not very invested in that place. Have met some nice, sarcastic folks and find it useful for news links and memes. That’s about it.
Bummer that your hashtag seems to be getting suppressed.
(My Twitter experience has also confirmed that my choice to avoid Facebook was a wise one.)
This guy is taking flying lessons. He’s talking to his buddy, he says “First day in the air, the instructor informs me he’s an eighth degree black belt and a homosexual, and if I don’t succumb to his sexual advances, I have to jump out of the plane.” And his buddy goes “Well, did you jump?”, and the guy goes “Yeah. A little at first.”
Nothing to say regarding today’s thread pic other than there’s been what, 5000 or so threads here over the years and Mac has never duplicated a thread pic. Thank you, Mac.
I have trouble trying to remember when several of us had to race to keep up with commenters to try and avoid threads getting over 100 comments. Pretty relaxed now.
Thanks for asking, but no. I had trouble falling asleep and then I would sleep for 15-30 minutes, have vivid dreams and then wake up and stay awake for another half hour and repeat the cycle. Not a restful night, but so it goes.
An eyeball update. Although both eyes remain dry, I’ve been spared major tears in the cornea of my right eye for several weeks now. I’m thinking that my next major step is to get punctal plugs reinserted in my tear ducts, both eyes, to keep my tears from draining out. I’ve had plugs for a couple of years now, but permanent ones caused severe pain in my right eye, were removed, and replaced with plugs that dissolve after 6 months which were fine.
Why go the permanent route? Money. I could afford getting the plugs replaced every 6 months now, but in a few years I may not have that luxury. Better to try it out now and see if they work -- the guy from UCLA says he has some that will work better than what my other doctor tried.
Here’s something I keep coming across in various shapes and forms that I find confusing: “We have people with the Biden name, dealing with Chinese business people that have a relationship to the Communist Party,” Grassley said. “I think it’s very concerning.”
China, being a Communist country, wouldn’t every business operating out of China have some relationship to the Communist Party?
Reading through the stories and headlines this morning, I wonder if the Dems have decided to jettison both Brandon and Harris, write off 2020- 2022, and bet on people forgetting how awful those two years have been in prep for the 2024 election.

What I’m not getting for lunch today. Or evar:
It’s like a full-service McDonald’s.
Ron White tells a related joke:
Good morning, Fatwa -- slept poorly so here I am.

Thank you, Sven (there have been a few, but…) I always feel like a slacker because I never put in the work that Tex did, just too lazy.
I don’t think, Mac, that Tex had to do thousands of threads as you have. “Lazy” is not a word I would ever associate with you.
I have trouble trying to remember when several of us had to race to keep up with commenters to try and avoid threads getting over 100 comments. Pretty relaxed now.
True -- there was much more traffic in the olden days.
Is your eye keeping you awake, Sven?
Thanks for asking, but no. I had trouble falling asleep and then I would sleep for 15-30 minutes, have vivid dreams and then wake up and stay awake for another half hour and repeat the cycle. Not a restful night, but so it goes.
I am sorry to hear that, though I would hate the eye problems more.
Agree with you on that one.

The cat’s face reminds me of that clip of Brandon at that event recently, wandering lost and ignored.
Brandon’s face often brings this to mind as well, and I have not even watched the movie, though I have seen the dueling banjo scene many times.

Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, Sven, and Mac!
It was 84°F at 8:30 this morning, with 20 mph winds. It’s going to be a hot one.
Sven -- I hope the new tear duct plugs work for you.
I read that many Dems at the White House are catching covid, including Pelosi. Sad, really sad.
But at least they’ve been vaccinated and boosted.
Back on TOR again. I’ll have a story for you tomorrow all about Wednesday morning.
