BK update: She’s “better than I’ve felt for two weeks”, which would be more meaningful if she weren’t a “chemistry experiment”. (Quotes are precise.)
HH-A update: Found out yesterday those shitheels still haven’t paid their share of the mediation fees (which were originally due in July).
As you nay recall, at that time, they were given until 08/01 to pony up, which they failed to do. On 08/02, one of their shysters gave his “representation” that “the check is en route if not delivered since [redacted]’s initial email.”
Another HH-A lawbaw said yesterday in an email to the arbitration company case manager, “There seems to be a miscommunication regarding payment. It is my understanding that the check for our client’s portion of the arbitration and mediation fees was mailed a few weeks ago. Anyhow, we have already followed up with our client regarding payment and will let you know once we receive more information.”
Yeah, right.
To use an old AoSHQ gag: “I also promise not to do that thing in your mouth”.
Jim and I have a conference call with Mr. Attorney tomorrow.

Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Fatwa -- I’m glad BrendaK is feeling better. Chemo has gotten a lot better than when I was designing new anti-cancer drugs, but they are still extremely toxic.
I hope your conference call goes well. Too bad you can’t put a lien on each individual condo, as well as the entire property.
Sven -- I hope your eyes are feeling better today.
So, Sven, I’m curious if you could be a potential transplant candidate? A friend of mine got a very specialized form of transplant for a very specific rare malady called “Fukes Dystrophy.” I hope I’m spelling that right. Anyway, her vision and everything else is pretty much normal again. She did need to take anti rejection drugs, for a while, but with eyes, you only need to drop them into your eyes, so they need not be systemic.
Thanks for this, Dv8 -- “Fuch’s Dystrophy” I hadn’t heard of it, but a cornea transplant in my right eye is a definite possibility. Good to hear that your friend had good results.
What I’ve been told is that I have “recurrent corneal erosion” with no specific cause. I also have “chronic periodontitis” also with no specific cause. The best diagnosis is that I have Sjogren’s syndrome since my dry eye and dry mouth are constant and amongst its major symptoms. It hasn’t been confirmed through lab work, but one of my doctor’s feels certain that this is the cause of my problems. No real fix for it -- most everything addresses the symptoms, not the root cause.
Later this year I’m going to push one doctor to prescribe hydroxychloroquine to see if that helps.
Did you know there are a couple of studies that show that anti-parasitic drugs sometimes make people, guys in particular, “Less Gay” It sounds crazy but parasites do sometimes alter the behavior of their hosts to induce behaviors convenient to the parasite.
Also Testosterone augmentation makes some Democrats change their party affiliation. Also a couple of studies there.
Bacon Grease is my favorite essential oil. It’s what makes my fake Tonkotsu broth come alive. Although, when I don’t have any around, I can use lard, but I usually skip the Lard and go straight to Butter in that case.
We were going through some old things today, and found some great family pictures.
I can photograph one with my phone maybe and put it up here, but, I don’t have a scanner anymore. Because when I bought my printer up here, I didn’t get a scanning printer because I didn’t want inkjet, I instead opted for a monochromatic laser printer, Much cheaper to opperate.
I also don’t get why there are no scented clothing detergents which aren’t ghey-smelling (I usually buy unscented). It’s all “Spring Linen” and “Lavender & Vanilla”; no “Motor Oil” or “Filthy Barn”.
Perhaps there’s a marketing opportunity here; “Bacon” and “Wood Smoke” would also be good.

Paddy --
Our window to put a lien on HH-A closed in early Decenber of 2020; five months before they started their attempted extortion, which was what necessitated engaging our attorney. (And sending them an invoice for additional off-contract work we did which we hadn’t previously charged for, as we had a good relationship with the Board in-place at the time we did the work.)
Came close to completely losing my shit in the store, as I keep a running total in my head and got totally freaked by how fast I hit my spending limit. (And it ain’t like we’re eating ribeyes and lobster at CasaK…)
That’s about what we are paying, too, Paddy. What they ought to do, like what they did with coffee -- changing the usual volume from 16 oz to 12 oz -- and change the definition of a dozen from 12 eggs to 10 eggs and reduce the price.
We just got a gas/electric bill that is about $293.00, the same as last month, and the highest we have seen. I knew usage was up as it has been very hot. Elena though maybe the prices was higher and I agreed but wondered just how much so tonight I calculated the costs now and last Aug. Gas has more than doubles and electricity is up about 40%, and this is a coop, so there is no gouging. Thank you Brandon.
Early this year I started a medication. It has worked great and I have not taken insulin since I started it. I just had to cancel my order as it tripled in price, from $131.00 to $497.76. It is the only med I pay for other than insulin, which I have not ordered this year. Just damn.
These are all little things compared to what you all are dealing with and I know this and I can’t complain, but it does get tiring, along with the higher prices on everything and the daily assaults on our freedom. I have seen things worse, under Carter, and seen them turn around much faster than I would have thought possible. I was explaining much of this to Elena tonight to ease her fears, but now I am bummed and needed to vent a bit. Sorry, and thanks for putting up with me.
Bacon Thursday Greasin’s, Wheelizens!
(I also consider lard an essential oil.)

lol things bouta get real : )
glad to hear Brenda is doing better.
I’ve often wondered why perfume makers don’t make a scent using bacon. And wood smoke.
Good morning, Fatwa -- small victory for Brenda.
Perfume makers create scents that women like -- what men want is an afterthought, if even that.
Sad, that.

Hi, Paddy -- thanks for asking -- my eyes are feeling healthier today, but my right eye’s vision is still wonky.

I swear I’m NOT making this stuff up : )
So my friend will be in town tomorrow, and so maybe he can help me with the microwave install in the morning. (or afternoon)

Hmm. I guess I came off TOR sometime last night.

Went on a comestibles run to Walmart and the price changes in just two weeks flabbergasted me. $3.29 for a dozen Great Value eggs…are they fookin’ FabergĂ©?
Came close to completely losing my shit in the store, as I keep a running total in my head and got totally freaked by how fast I hit my spending limit. (And it ain’t like we’re eating ribeyes and lobster at CasaK…)
I usually get our eggs at Trader Joe’s. Last week they were the same as what you just paid. The next day, at our local Stater Bros., eggs were $5.29.
That’s about what we are paying, too, Paddy. What they ought to do, like what they did with coffee -- changing the usual volume from 16 oz to 12 oz -- and change the definition of a dozen from 12 eggs to 10 eggs and reduce the price.
Still no potatoes.
