Apologies for being somewhat AWOL; please know that’s not due to any additional carp at our end. (We a sufficiency of carp to deal with, thanks…). 🙂

Hope Teh Youngest has been able to stay in-touch and that Ian is as uneventful as possible for him.
(Weird…AFAIK, the POTUS has not made the “traditional” phone call to the Governor of a state about to get whacked with a natural disaster to say presidential stuff. Or even babble incoherently, “Hurricane Cornpop was a bad storm…something something leg hairs…”)
We’ll be getting some Ian-related rain and winds Friday-Saturday but -- assuming the weather-guessers are right -- nothing really noteworthy.
BK Update: Blood work was good; she was able to eat (and retain it); sleeping right now. Meeting with surgeon tomorrow.
HH-A Update: AAA has (slightly) tightened the screws on the HOA…but is still allowing them to get away with their latest stalling tactic. On the plus side, mediation now appears to be completely off the table, which is more than fine with us. We’ll see what happens -- or doesn’t -- next.

Maaaan…seems like the whole planet’s even nuttier than usual due in very large part to the (alleged) Feeb-in-Chief. Fark living in “interesting times”.
I’ve had good results with the new drops and ointment -- it isn’t a cureall but has been more effective than what I’ve used in the past. What gives me hope is that even though I’m waking up with dry eye symptoms in both eyes, I’ve managed to avoid to avoid rips in the cornea of my right eye. So far, anyways.
If this becomes my new normal, then I’ll be more than happy with it.
Gas prices ’round here jumped $0.25-$0.30 since last week, which is certainly -- in part -- attributable to Ian. Ditto much worse than normal traffic on the Interstates.
Food prices here also continue to rise; several staples have now become “treats”.
Glad to read your new eyeball meds are making a difference; very much hope that continues.
Not expecting any serious weather issues re Ian locally; between Friday and Saturday, we’re anticipating about 1.5″ of rain and some moderate winds. Assuming weather-guesser accuracy, our “fallout” from Irma was much more severe (as I remember being worried about our old roof getting wind-damaged).

Tim Pool also wants to make a movie about New York finally banning all guns, and then being overun with feral pigs. (These pigs can be 9 feet long and weigh in excess of 500lbs. Also cannot be easily killed by small arms fire, evidently. It requires great expertise, or very high caliber rounds. This is my understanding.
Humpy Hap Day, GN!

Interesting times are overrated.
Hi, Fatwa -- thanks for the updates -- hope Ian doesn’t dump too much rain on you guys.
An eyeball update.

California gas prices rose $.16 overnight getting us over $6/gal again. Newsom is blaming Ian.

is that really joe, or is it the kid from deliverance? i just looked it up, but wow! he really looks like the deliverance kid.
Forgot to mention earlier: That thread kitteh looks very European, Mac.
Was watching Louder with Crowder as they do their Jan 6 hearing show -- even though the hearing was postponed. Funny stuff.
Good to have a President that can see dead people -- they ought to make a movie.
It would be an awesome movie!!! Maybe get M. Night Shamamalalalalmananalan to do it?

Perhaps Arizona Can Bus these pigs (which we do have here) to NYC? That would be even better/funnier than bussing illegals.
Ask Ted Nugent -- he’d be up for something like that.
Probably an AR-15 that has a muzzle velocity 4-5 times faster than any other firearm and can fully dismember a pig with one shot.
heh.
But nobody should have a gun like that!!!!!
Actually, Harper always wanted an AR-15 but all I could manage was a BBgun : )
WIN! Kept an annoying telemarketer on the phone more than 6 minutes before he called me an a**hole and hung up. The highlight of my day.
Did you record it?
