Surgeon cleared BK for release this morning around 9:00. Took a while for the “discharge nurse” (heeeeee!) to process the paperwork but we got outta there a bit after 10:00.
BK was hungry and decided that a Waffle House visit (which we haven’t done in years) was in order. Maaaan…their prices are up alarmingly and they have limited menu…but the comestibles hit the spot.
While we were dining, I got a call from my gastroenterologist’s office reporting that all the polyps they snipped last week were benign.
So, all-in-all, a not-carpy day.
BK still has radiomed treatments (the equivalent of nuking the site from orbit just to be sure).
We are in the process of trying to get a new car for Elena. Her 20 year old Kia is falling apart, we have put two or three times as much money into it in the last couple of years as it is worth, just to buy some time. We paid cash for my used truck in 2007 and for her Kia in 2002. I am out of touch with the joys of dealing with car dealers.
True, but what was more surprising was that in times past dealers almost always discounted from MSRP unless a car was in high demand like the early Datsun 240Z. Now the mark up on most, so the MSRP becomes tricky. I think a common markup is almost a grand on a 20K car, plus they load them.
A lack of chips is preventing manufacturers from completing a lot of new cars. Others are coming off the assembly line with many of the tech goodies unavailable because the chips were never installed (you won’t get a discount, of course). The price of used cars has gone through the roof.
Scanning the headlines, it’s amusing that now that Trump isn’t on the ballot, everything the left and its minions said about Trump, they now say about all Republicans and those that disagree with them.
I’m hoping for many tears to sweeten my coffee next Wednesday morning.
Good morning, GN -- hoping Fatwa and Brenda return home today and that everyone else is doing fine.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
Continued prayers for Brenda and Fatwa.
Mac -- I hope both you and Elena are doing well.
Sven -- I hope your eyes are not giving you too much trouble and that you are able to sleep.
Thanks, Paddy. The last 4 nights have been OK -- for whatever reason, the most painful events occur on the weekends.
That’s because we don’t recover as fast as we used to.
Thank you, Paddy. We are doing well.
Happy Gerbil Invasion Thursday!

Gotta go pick up pain meds for BK; BBL.
Thank you for checking in with the good news. A great relief!
Excellent news for both of you! Thanks for letting us know!
Excellent!

And some sticker shock too, I bet.

It’s a seller’s market.
