Still on TOR.

Harper didn’t make it with me to our friends for Thanksgiving. We had all the typical stuff. But the Turkey was very delicious. In this case, it was marinated turkey breast that was then cooked outside on the BBQ. Done in about 10 minutes.

Didn’t do much on Twitter in the last several days. Still got about 1000 more followers. Elon really switched off the “Jakes,”/opened the floodgate/hit the nitro… etc…. I still have people thanking me for posts I made a week ago.

When the election algorithm is not rigged it’s amazing what can happen.

by the way:

Marinated turkey breast cooked on the BBQ: Moist and seared and burnt edges just the right way. Probably the best turkey related meat I’ve had so far.

Happy Trash Panda Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, dv8 (and Harper!)!

dv8 -- I’m glad the turkey you had turned out so well. I’m sorry your lovely bride couldn’t join you in the festivities.

Dinner at Casa du O’Furnijur was a rousing success and everyone was sent home with some leftovers. The gravy wasn’t as good as I would have liked, but I managed to salvage it. I used a recipe from some food critic’s cookbook and learned that he has poor taste. It called for a tablespoon of sherry vinegar. After reducing down the stock, I spent the rest of my efforts on getting rid of the taste of that d@mn vinegar! Next time I’ll just go with what I know works.

Coons. Recycling people’s trash to help save the planet.

Good morning, Paddy, and Dv8.

Happy that your twitter presence is being acknowledged, Dv8. Hope that Harper is feeling OK.

Hmmmm. Vinegar in gravy -- good on you for trying it, but I wonder what it is supposed to taste like? Sounds not so good.

Vinegar, or any acid, can add a brightness and boost the flavor of other components of a sauce, but in this case you’re right -- it was not so good.

Happy Black Friday, Wheelizens!

Hi dv8 (and Harper!!1!), Paddy and Sven!

Glad to read you all had a pleasant day yesterday.

We did, too, despite having to spend time with a few folks we’re not all that fond of. I kept myself on a short leash (behavior-wise) and managed to stop eating at “comfortably full”.

The commute both ways was about as smooth as possible. It was weird: despite very light traffic, we saw a lot of people who were having trouble maintaining their lanes. Glad it was easy to give them plenty of space.

Haven’t seen any door-buster fights in my Twitter feed yet; perhaps retailers aren’t doing many of those this year.

Good on you for maintaining your composure, Fatwa. I know how hard it is for me to keep my mouth shut in those situations and you’re much better at teh snark than I am!

It sounds like folks were doing lots of “pre-gaming” before hitting the roads in your neck of the woods.

I’ve been reading Colorado Springs shooting stories where they commonly refer to the location as the only LTGBTQRSTI+ friendly club in town and so obviously a hate crime. A quick googling for Colorado Springs and gay club turns up five of them.

The media searches more desperately for hate crimes than a guy at a bar at 1:45 AM trying to get laid.

One perspective: https://californiaglobe.com/articles/ports-of-la-long-beach-free-of-cargo-backup-first-time-since-october-2020/

And reality. The ports of LA and Long Beach no longer have ships backed up because carriers have shifted their business to the Gulf and East Coasts.
