Got the Roku TV yesterday afternoon.

We hooked it up and everything works fine. No Roku stick needed anymore. Hooked it up to the Laptop also.

Dug some 2.1 Altec Lansing speakers out of a closet and plugged them into the Headphone jack. Unlike with our old TV… that actually worked. Not sure why and why not--I’m not an AV guy, really.

The new TV has an infrared remote that accesses all its functions including volume, etc. The old Wifi remote from the old Roku Stick still works, so I synced (sunk) it with the new TV, and it also works.

I’ve never watched over the air TV since the digital thing went into effect in the mid 2000s, Maybe I should hook an antenna up to it just to see what happens; definitely, you get nothing without an antenna. We don’t have cable either, just internet access, so whatever we do, it’s pretty much the same situation as the old TV.

It’s funny how everyone seems to want 4k or 8k, or whatever. And 7.1 surround. This TV, and, in fact, our old TV, is 720 P Compared to the crappy TVs we all grew up with picture and soundwise, this TV with 2.1 stereo is AMAZING.

Sure you can get a lot better, but I don’t see any point. Especially given that $130 price point.

My “good” computer monitor is 1080 p with a couple of “ghetto” flat screens on either side. I have just enough room on my desk for the old Sharp TV if I want to add it as a 4th monitor until it dies. Which Would be easier than selling or donating it.

I guess I should get some sleep.

Dinner was chicken strips baked in the oven. We just cleaned the kitchen and I didn’t want to make another mess (the dishwasher will not be fixed until January, I guess.) Everyone has at least a month waiting list.

Thanks to Klaus Schwab and his new world order/great reset shit, it looks like the economy will never recover and the new normal is that no one is available to do any work.

Is this how it felt at the end of the old Roman Empire?

Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, dv8 (and Harper!)!

dv8 -- glad your TV and speaker setup is working well. When our old 1080p TV died, the only similar ones we could find were 4K. We couldn’t tell a difference, primarily because A) the things we watch don’t tend to be in 4K, and 2) we don’t sit close enough to the TV for the difference in resolution to be noticeable.

Good morning, Dv8, and Paddy -- hope GN is fit as a fiddle. I’m a little under the weather today, but working away making money, damnit.

I’m sorry you’re not feeling well, Sven. Too bad you can’t go into the office and share your misery with upper management.

Well thank God that Brandon was able to get the black lesbian basketball player who actually broke another country’s laws, released. Another noteworthy accomplishment during his POTUS tenure.

And he only had to trade a weapons dealer known as the “Merchant of Death” to get her. What a deal!

I hear that he’s given up on getting back the U.S. Marine who has been imprisoned in Russia for over four years though.

That guy ought to begin identifying as a woman -- that will get some Brandon action.
