Don’t know if I’ll make it to church today. I did get a fair bit of sleep.
The hollidays are taking it out of me this year.
I can’t get my appliance guy in until January. My Fridge is leaking. My Diswasher is leaking. I went out and bought more paper/disposable plates etc, but the kitchen without a dishwasher is just drudgery that I don’t have time for.
I ordered some filters for my fridge Ice maker. I believe that is why it’s leaking, but who knows. My Dryer is making a funny noise so some bearing or other is wearing out.
I’m tempted to buy all new stuff, but my dishwasher is fairly new, and the fridge is a refurb only a few years old. The washer/dryer is a stack unit for tiny places like ours, I don’t think I could fit full sized ones in our place, even if they were stacked front loaders. It would be nice to have some modern ones though.
Probably better to fix the ones I have, except it’ll be a while until I can get a guy in here.
Bummer about your appliances; ah, the joys of home ownership. 😉
Jim sent me a link to an interview with Bari Weiss. I’ve certainly been aware of her, but perhaps ought to be following her work more closely. It’s nearly an hour long but covers a lot of ground. (Including a fair amount about how -- and why -- “wokeness” is pretty bad for teh Jooos; she articulates that a lot better than I can.)

A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, dv8 (and Harper!), and Fatwa!
dv8 -- why does it always seem the appliances go out at the same time? Do they discuss things at night and make plans? When we got our current fridge, we opted for the fewest bells and whistles possible and didn’t hook the ice maker up. Most of the negative reviews I read about refrigerators had to do with leaky ice makers and technology that died early.
Fatwa -- thanks for the link. I’ll try to give it a listen later today.
I specifically got a fridge with an ice maker because I use an inordinately large amount of ice. It was on the list of thinks I would eventually get. But Dad’s old fridge in here had one, but it was kinda small, So When I upgraded, I got a much bigger fridge (I still need a deep freeze though) and it had one of those ice makers in the door. It kinda takes up a lot of space in the freezer as all old school ice makers do. Newer ones have been miniaturized and take up much less space, who knows how long they last though.Anyway, I got some new water filters for it, because that seems to be where it is leaking. But who knows. I don’t know how to investigate it myself. Although I guess I could check the connection of the water in the back. If that were leaking, I guess I could probably fix that.
The Dishwasher is a new GE which was a reasonable price and has a lot of features that make it versatile, but it’s now leaking under the front door, so essentially splashing water out onto the floor. There is a rubber seal in the front, which I guess is failing. I just replaced the circulation pump on it a few months ago, so this is really a miserable turn of events.
The Dryer had the main bearing replaced recently so this squeaking is probably coming from somewhere else.
Good for Palmdale. Karen Bass, like the typical Leftist, wants people to think she is compassionate, but when it comes time to take action, that action is to push problems onto someone else, just like in Martha’s Vineyard.
I’m sure that mixing urban homeless folks and desert denizens will go exceedingly well.
My impression is that a significant percentage of the folks in Antelope Valley are out there due to economics and/or wanting to be left the hell alone. Straining their fiscal resources and introducing a bunch of strangers -- many with mental and/or drug issues -- will be totally fine.

Still on TOR, by the way.

yup. I’ve always wondered that : )

Have you been drying mice again?
no : )
11.3K followers on Twitter. Marxist handler not clearly in evidence as of yet. I hope they/them likes cookies.
Nice, steady growth.
You must be doing something right. I’m not sure I could get beyond two followers -- assuming I could get Mrs. Paddy to open a Twitter account.
Good morning, Fatwa, Dv8, and Paddy. I always knew Palmdale would be good for something:

Happy Hanukkah.
I thank you on behalf of all Gerbil Jewry. 🙂
Off to my church choir concert. C’yall later and Hanukkah sameach!
Hope your concert went wonderfully, Paddy.
Hi Fatwa -- it went very well. Between the choir, bell choir, barbershop quartet, duets, etc. there was something for everyone.
The goofiest ending to a football game ever. Score is tied, no time left in regulation, heading to overtime, and then this happens.
There is no joy in Mudville tonight.
Not in NE anyways. The most boneheaded play I’ve ever seen.
They obviously don’t play rugby.
Mighty Casey is chasing you around the couch?
