Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
This is the time of year we typically spend a lot of time working with students who aren’t performing well. In the independent study environment, that usually shows up as low work completion. As we work with students and families, what we’ve been finding more of is student’s who basically took two years off of school during the pandemic. They are still enrolled in the grade that their age would reflect, but have missed out on two years of education. I understand parents pulling their kids out of public schools that didn’t have a clue how to conduct remote learning, but you would expect those same parents to put their kids in a quality learning environment, not just take a swing and a miss at homeschooling. The other thing we’ve been experiencing, is an order of magnitude increase in student depression and anxiety.
Good morning, GN.
