Thanks for asking, Mac. It’s an OK opportunity and they seem to want me, so I’ll go for it -- just need to work on my attitude over the next month. It could be a good thing or at least as good a thing as I can get at teh bestest place ever. Rather surprisingly, at least to me is that while onsite I ran into a couple of managers that I knew and both of them asked how it went and when do I start. It felt like everyone knew about this before I did.
From a business and organizational perspective, it makes sense -- I cannot argue that point. And I’m grateful for the opportunity -- just not so sure how it will all work out.
I’ve been telling Mrs Sven that she needs to quit/retire for the last few years and I think she’s getting close to pulling that trigger and that will be a good thing. We’ve been married now for almost 35 years and on the income side, it’s been a partnership with both of us working/contributing that whole time -- it was a safety net when one of us lost a job. Being the only income earner is something I will need to adjust to -- I accept it, but right now it’s worrisome -- that pressure on me to stay employed. Pussy, I know. Just do it.
