A very nice thread gif -- thanks, Mac! What an abundance of amazing creatures with which we have been blessed to share our lives with.

Glad you got your AC fixed, Paddy. We briefly lost power again yesterday -- it’s becoming a common thing, much like potholes in our roads.

Happy Weasel Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!

Sven -- have these been Public Safety power outages, or just SCE’s unreliable equipment?

Unreliable equipment is my guess -- not their fire safety outages. Usually they last less than 15 minutes, but we’ve had at least half a dozen this year -- one a month. SoCalEd does make sure to contact us hours later that our power is back on.

Yesterday’s was funny as after it went out I went outside to check the breaker box and had just opened the panel as the power came back on. I told Mrs Sven that I had fixed it.

Who’s to say your opening the panel didn’t fix SCE’s problem?

Isn’t it great when SCE sends you a message that your power is back on -- hours after your power is back on?

I had no idea.

Years ago, Mrs Sven was dating a biker – at the time he belonged to a smaller club, but eventually became a Hells Angel. Him, Mrs Sven, and another biker were playing pool at a bar and a couple of guys came into the bar and one of them was someone that Mrs Sven had had some trouble with in the past. She’s uncomfortable and wants to leave. Her boyfriend says no – we just got here and we’re playing pool. He asks what’s wrong and eventually Mrs Sven explains.

They continue playing pool and drinking beer until the other guys make ready to leave. Mrs Sven’s party leave first and wait in their car. When the other guys leave, they follow and a couple of blocks down the street run the other car off the road. The bikers jump out, drag the other guys out of their car, and proceed to beat the shit out of them. No words are exchanged and I’ve told Mrs Sven that she ought to track this guy down -- if he’s still alive -- and explain why that happened that day.

When Mrs Sven tells this story, she always says “I had no idea that was going to happen” and we always laugh incredulously – what did you think was going to happen? But she sticks to that and it’s become a catch phrase with us when something happens that we should have expected but didn’t.

As I watch the media, pundits, and politicians all claim surprise that Brandon is as incompetent and ill as he is and has been for years, I’m sure they all are claiming that they had no idea.

It’s either “I had no idea”, or “Of course we’ve known, how could you dummies not see it, too?”

Another brush fire -- this one maybe 6 miles north and west of us. That’s the 4th in two weeks.

This one could turn into a bit of a problem -- up to 45 acres now and moving to more remote areas. Moving east with the wind, which isn’t strong but steady. It’s well north of us with the 118 freeway a nice fire break. Chemical air drops regularly.

Stay safe. I hope they can knock it down and contain it quickly.

Looks pretty much under control. Good practice for them.
