Saab had a three cylinder engine in some of their cars but I never rode in one. The only three cylinder I rode was a motorcycle, a Suzuki 750 two stroke, water cooled triple. It was very powerful as it demonstrated to me by locking the throttle full open when I accelerated on a freeway ramp. By the end of that short ramp I was going VERY, VERY fast as I fumble for the kill switch and dodged the cars on the freeway that I was now overtaking at a high rate.
Never. I was going home from work. I was managing a Foster Freeze. It was late at night so traffic was light and fast, a good thing for me. The motorcycle was a loaner from the dealer as my brand new 500 twin had soft gears and had worn them down in one trip, leaving me a box of neutrals.
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, dv8 (and Harper!), and Mac!
Teh Younger is flying in today to help me celebrate my 65th birthday on Monday. We haven’t seen him since we flew out to Florida last November.
dv8 -- I remember those tiny, 3-cylinder death traps, like the Suzuki. A friend of mine in college had a Saab Sonett, but had replaced the engine with something considerably larger and more fun to drive.
Mac -- that’s quite a step up from a neutral-locked 500 to a throttle-locked 750. Glad you came out of that in one piece.
Jack Tatum celebrated 8 years with us this month. He’s getting old and we’ve never had a single cat this long -- it’s challenging and kind of uncharted territory for us. We took in two old cats after a relative died, but they were on their last legs when we got them. All the other cats, I think the longest we had any was 4-5 years tops.
Well get him into the vet next month and get him his shots and checked out. He’s just very low energy, sleeps a lot. Leaping ability seems to be less than what it was. He still prefers Mrs Sven much more than me, but I’ve gotten used to it.
He’s been a blessing to us and I hope he hangs on for many more years.
Ugh. I got nuthin’ beyond wishing GN a good day. Poof.
Back atcha
My commie friend had a 3 cylinder car back in tbe 80s. That’s as close to a vegan car as I’d seen at that point in time

That was an interesting ride home from Benicia to Sacramento.
Was alcohol involved?

Stick to that.

Wishing you early a very happy birthday, Paddy!

This is interesting.
As is this.
When I asked for a list of topics it can’t respond to, it begins to spit a list of bullet points and then deletes them and says it can’t respond.
