Why is it that most popular artists, who live large based on capitalism, support Leftists?
It’s a good question to which I don’t have an answer, but it isn’t limited to just entertainers and that industry. The msm is overwhelmingly left-leaning and the same goes for education, both at the instructor and student/graduate level.
What is interesting is that we even listen to celebrities when they stray outside of their entertainment value on matters for which they seemingly have no special knowledge or insight. It’s there that they show, if you care to look, how very shallow they really are.
Happy Sunday, GN. Sadly, and I blame old age for it, I didn’t get all my work done yesterday, which means another 4 hours today to get back on track. So it goes.
Turn the Page is a song from Bob Seger first written and recorded for his Back in ’72 album that was released in 1973. Seger had been performing and recording since the early 60’s, but in the early 70’s he released an amazing string of albums that made him one of the biggest concert draws for the next 10 years: Beautiful Loser, Live Bullet, Night Moves, Against the Wind. I was lucky enough to see him perform live twice during that time.
I think Seger peaked during that time and his influence/talent declined beginning with Against the Wind -- at least in my opinion.
Metallica covered Turn the Page on one of their albums and yesterday I went down the rabbit home of their albums. An underappreciated album is S&M which was recorded live in 1999 with the San Francisco Symphony. It’s a wonderful blending of metal and classical -- one to check out if you’ve never watched before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8w-tAA5psKI
Be curious what you think, Paddy. Soon after this concert, Metallica-Phase 2 ended with the departure of their bassist, Jason Newsted, and lead singer James Hetfield entering rehab after 3 years of touring in support of the Black album. The Black album was roundly condemned by hardcore metal fans as a sellout which prompted drummer Lars Ulrich to comment “Yeah, we sell out, Every single night.”
I’m not a fan of Metallica or thrash metal, but that piece showcased both the musical and vocal talents of the band. A great sound and great harmonies. Powerful lyrics, as well. Not at all what I expected.
Hmmmm. Shots fired near Trump -- unclear details as of right now, but the man does have a target on his back. Maybe somebody unhappy about him saying illegal immigrants are eating cats?

A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
Thanks for the Metallica link! I’ll give it a listen when I get back from church.
*poof*

There’s a great documentary showing the turmoil in the band, which is worth watching if you are interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPXPZ10h50c

I’m wondering if this is just another clusterfark on SS’s part.
As long as the kitten isn’t aiming at Trump.
None of this would be happening if the Trump campaign would just tone down the rhetoric.
lol
