Dropped off my equipment today at teh bestest place ever’s corporate headquarters. I also dropped off a dozen bagels and cream cheese to the help desk guys and thanked them for their assistance over the years. I thought I’d have a twinge of regret or sadness, but no. Just git ‘er done. Most of that comes from working remote the last 4+ years -- hard to feel anything concrete when your interactions are entirely virtual. At least for me.

Yep, I get that. We used to have in-person meetings four times per year. That’s been cut down to twice per year, with monthly online meetings. The in-person meetings are critical for building relationships.
You guys ever watch HBO’s The Wire? A great police drama set in Baltimore -- I’d call it better than The Sopranos. The second season focused on the port, longshoremen, unions, smuggling, and organized crime. The union leader is a guy named Frank Sobotka who gets involved with the Russian mob to get money to keep his union members afloat. Unfortunately, a container of Russian women destined to be prostitutes gets lost in the yard and they all die -- that brings in the police.
It’s a fascinating look at the port culture and those that work it and seems quite appropriate considering what’s going on with the strike. For a taste -- but really worth watching if you haven’t seen it before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goliRNkR6sM

Thank you, Sven. I see your ink and raise you masonry.
Cats -- been leaving their mark for many centuries.
Happy Supportive Raccoon Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Mac!
Cats -- are they really domesticated?
