I was talking to a friend yesterday. Last month, her mother, who she had been taking care of, died on a Monday. My friend had to have surgery on the following Wednesday for severe pain caused by a large cyst growing on her L5 nerve bundle. She’d been in pain for a couple of months and a bit out of it and when her husband took her to the hospital she thought it was for some addl tests. When she realized that she was being admitted, she flipped out and refused -- told her husband to take her home as she had 2-3 more hours of work to do -- she has her own business. He took her home, she did her work, and then he took her back.
During our conversation, she asked just wtf was she doing? Putting that much emphasis on work. It was a long conversation during which I mostly listened. She saw her mother every day and arranged for her care, but said she feels guilty because many times she rushed through her visits because she had work to do.
Happy Problematic ‘Coon Tuesday, Gerbil Nation!
Kamala’s “real men vote for Harris” campaign is failing spectacularly and I couldn’t be happier.
Thread pic -- if the problems were directed at cats, then good job, coon!
Hi, Paddy.
I wonder how the Harris campaign defines “real men” given what I’ve seen in their ads.

Prayers for strength, comfort, healing, and peace for your friend, Sven.
