Good morning, Mac, and Paddy -- hope you are all doing well.
Windy out here today, but low temps.
Rewatched last night the movie Gettysburg -- a 4-hour+ marathon but worth it. Based on Shaara’s book The Killer Angels. You both have probably seen it, but if not, check it out.
History does repeat itself as the Raiders suck again. For the first thirty years of their existence, they dominated the NFL. Not always as champions -- although they racked up three SB wins in four appearances -- but they were a team that was always in it and that other teams feared to play. With a three season exception under Gruden, they have just sucked since 1990. That’s a long time for any organization to be bad.
On the Raider blogs/sites, fans gave up on this team four weeks ago and the hope they cling to now is that they finish the season so bad that they get the #1 draft pick. Not that it will do this team any good. Sad. Glad I’m not the fan I used to be.
Makes me smile -- Raider fans, altho I give them credit for sticking it out.
Team of the Decades, Commitment to Excellence, Once a Raider, Always a Raider. A fu*king professional sports trainwreck owned by the biggest buffoon on the planet. A franchise that has nothing going for it except empty slogans.
For those of you that think this is a tank, it’s not, we just suck that bad. This is easily one of the top 3 worst Raiders team I’ve ever witnessed, and the sad part is there’s no end in sight, we’ll fire the coaches and do it all over again with whomever Davis thinks is the next shiny ‘saviour’…rinse and repeat in 2-3 years. Make it stop….please.
The Raiders are not tanking. They just suck!!!! They may not win another game even if they tried.
Every game against the Raiders for the opponent is a great time…The Raiders are creating great memories for the opposing fans and their families!!!…Isn’t that nice!!!
If you want to watch the worst football you have ever seen in your life….Tune into the Raiders every single week….You will not be disappointed!
Haven’t cast my vote yet -- will do it on Election Day at the local fire station like I have for the last 30 years or so. I think Trump takes it, but I don’t think it will be pretty. If he loses, then the fight goes on. Actually, the fight goes on regardless of who wins, but I sense a sea change in America. Finally.
I was going to spend the day going through our 150 page voter guide, but went back to my usual methodology of choosing no on any proposition sponsored or supported by left-leaning groups, choosing R over D, and that’s about it.
I have not been able to log in to Photobucket for a couple of days. I thought it might be their bug and hoped they would sort it out Monday so I could set up threads for the week coming. Then I remembered I made a change in the Firefox browser cookie settings so I tried logging in on Edge. That was it so I undid the change and can get in now. I do hate hackers, these get so complicated trying to stay safe.
We watched a new movie tonight called Canary Black. A shy thriller about a government made file of blackmail material on all government officials and important employees. It was intended to let the government know what any important person might be vulnerable about but it was stolen and posed a terrible risk. It was presented as such a bad thing to have created it. I guess the writer did not remember the Clinton FBI file scandal. Blackmail material on government officials compiled by the FBI and in illegal possession of the White House in the custody of a democrat operative who specialized in political blackmail. Had to laugh a bit.
I watched an older Mel Gibson movie: Blood Father. Gibson does a great job in it.
I saw the trailer for Canary Black -- A top CIA operative, Avery Graves (Kate Beckinsale), is blackmailed by terrorists into betraying her own country to save her kidnapped husband.
I may be misogynistic, but every movie that features a “strong” woman doing something that would normally be a male role so that they can show women are as good as men just gets a pass.
The Peanut the Squirrel killing is infuriating considering the good this couple was doing for abused animals plus our own orphan squirrel experience from earlier this year. And they killed a coon, too. On top of the other intimidation tactics used on the couple during the actual raid.
And yet they are always amazed that people hate the govt and their minions.
Sunday -- now with more hours!
Good morning, GN.
Good morning, Sven.
A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Mac!
I hope everyone is doing well. I’m off to church. See y’all later!
Good morning, Paddy. Be safe.

Today is little more than mundane chores for me.

Winds weren’t too bad here today, but another FIRE WEATHER WARNING later in the week.
We cast our votes on the first day of early voting, Oct 21 I think. Glad to have it done. Wish we could still just vote the party ticket.

I pray that all your cat images are still there, Mac.

They had to kill the animals to conserve them.
